Catfishing is my absolute favorite thing to do. Here in Virginia I pickle my own chicken livers with Morton Pickling salt and Garlic powder. I never use Borax because it can be harmful. Just let sit a couple days draining the blood adding salt if needed. Makes outside tough to stay on the hook but keeps middles soft. Tend to catch Carp, Hybrids and Stripers on it as well. Glad to see another great video and thank you for making them. Keep safe.

Add a few mini marshmallows first on the just dew worm set up. It will keep the worms up off bottom. This is how us trout fishermen do it on windy days and new spots that maybe too weedy , or buy a worm blower or insulin needle to inject the worm with air to keep the worm up off bottom. Give it a try , you might be amazed by the hookups. Anise gel works great on spoons when your trolling for salmon and trout as well 👍 👍 🇨🇦

I use the Anise flavoring out of the grocery store when I make up my carp bait. They seem to like it. People use 10/0 circle hooks all the time. They have their place but will often blind a small channel cat because they are designed to hook them in the corner of the mouth and that eyeball is right there in the hooks path. I stopped using the big hooks like that unless I'm using big baits for big fish. Otherwise I use 5/0 or 6/0 circle hooks which won't damage a small channel catfish like the bigger hooks.

I use the same scent and brand and the fish love it... Especially Spotties and Bluegills. For trout I prefer the Berkley trout scent better... Also... I won't buy this Smelly Jelly® brand again because it leaks all over... Even leaked through the plastic baggie (I also HAVE to keep it in).
