As much as I hate Shifter, I actually don’t think it’s worth main decking this format. Even the best Shifter decks don’t love him. Maliss doesn’t want to be under Shifter going 1st because it hurts their endboard, Ryzeal can’t rebuild as well during the opponent’s turn if Detonater goes down, and the decks play fine enough going 2nd that it’s not as impactful as some other handtraps you could be playing anyways.

While it will happen in game 1 less because ryzeal and malliss post list are the uncontested best decks, if your opponents have high enough salaries you're going to be running into shifter every other game unless you too are also on a shifter deck

Honestly, as long as they do this AFTER a YCS (and preferably at least two weeks out from the next one) to avoid blindsiding people or having people skip prepping for a particular YCS because the banlist is already known and they are testing for the next format, this is a good way to schedule banlist changes.

This does change everything. Diabellstar can’t search any level 1 a**hole you want, Yubel has only one Phantom, Tenpai is effectively dead and Ryzeal is probably the best deck in the upcoming format. The problem is that there’s a lot more work to do. Shifter should ideally be banned, there’s still a lot of generic Extra Deck stuff like Masq and Little Knight that will impact meta every time you’ll have two loose monsters on board and Albion is still around, so banning Jowgen and Nightmare doesn’t solve the problem. Also Protos was unbanned to sell new Ritual Beasts support.

Original Sin is such a rough hit to not only Snake-eyes, but any deck that runs a level 1 Fire Monster. As an Infernoid and Rescue-Ace lover this was the Snake-eye card that I was hoping would live the longest because it has the highest level of versatility.

Phantom of Yubel is the only thing in Yubel that really pushes it over the top, rather than just being Dark Fiend Mikanko cheese. Colossus is fine since you need a LOT to get it on the field. Jowgen 100% limits card design, though I'm surprised they didn't ban Ra's Disciple if they hitting the symptom (Gimmick Puppet Nightmare) instead of the disease (Sanctifier)...or they could just change the rule that if a monster with a lingering *condition* gets summoned, the summoning player is affected and not the controller.

Literally no Draco Master peace unban, no linkuriboh and Superheavy samurai scarecrow un ban, no semi limit for Called by, Misc or Branded fusion following with the lock cards, and no Fiendsmith ban when it was the obvious winner of the YCS. And dragon rulers was an obvious unlimit. Sure Tenpai hit but thats because they are cheap and snake-eyes late hit. Phantom of Yubel was the only good hit following the unlimited of Op spirit gates. Pretty much a ZZZZZZZ list

I find it funny that now Cyberjar is at 2. Largely because having two in a deck can screw the user over. As for the Snake Eyes ban, I'm not happy. Largely because Snake Eyes is slowly becoming a useless archetype. Sure, people have trouble against the archetype, but that's because most don't know how to exploit the weaknesses of Snake Eyes. And now, there's a lot more that can be done against it.

Cimo you got to remember on MD they have an amount of ban "slots". So things have to come off to go on the list. Its a weird system. If they banned more they would have a bigger list but they basically make it seem like they can only have so many cards on the banlist. They have no clue how to balance the game out. They definitely should do the banlists like this going forward. Live crowd reactions are great. Also I don't think Colossus to 3 is going to matter in the slightest in anything other than pure TD, and they need all the help they can get lmao

Have to say that was a Great Ban -Movie- I mean, list! I certainly appreciate Cyber Jar being at 2 if all the cheap & broken Monster-removal are all unlimited. This is how it should always be done really! (And thank Goodness as I never played Jowgen since before 2010 anyways but I'm sort of happy the little guy got to become so notorious. It does bring me back to the days of PTDN when I was so damn scared of the Dark Creator dropping, I instinctively ran one in my deck to stop it, lol!)
