as with most crypto schemes, they are based on reality but don't have certian links in the chain working at all. Long story short, trimble RTK and other standard rtk or ppk solutions work a treat. How do you certify the coordinates of your ROCK base stations? Anyone using GNSS for accurate work will require the base stations used to be certified by a governing body. I cannot see any spatial professionals using this service without such certification. What type of customers are you trying to attract?
@billyandriam Жыл бұрын
dumb ones obviously. Imagine charging you $40/month when you bought the hardware already and it won't allow you to self-host it on your own network. Kindly look elsewhere, GNSS DK Base station from GNSS OEM is more permissive that it at a very affordable price.

@@danieljwindham the networks don't need certification, the installation and published coordinates of the GNSS base need certification. Awesome! if this can become more wide spread this would be an great change from what we have currently in the surveying world. What we have right now is decent, but coverage around the entirety of the U.S. is kind of lousy. Right now there is no nationwide service so having the whole United States covered under one contract rather than paying for GPS corrections in a state by state manner would be way simpler and most likely cheaper! Please continue to share this. It would vastly reduce the startup cost for upcoming survey companies, and make survey grade measurements way easier to come by! Don't you worry this might cut into the sales of Rock Robotics base stations though?? haha! Can you give us a rough estimate on the cost to use this service?

Answering a few questions for users interested in the network. There are currently 2 options for the ROCK Base... Option 1: RTK Access & No Mining - Installed ROCK Base gets you access to the ROCK RTK Network. This unit does not earn crypto and will operate like a high end GNSS base and you will get 1 user access to the whole Rock base network (your own installed station and all other stations on the Rock network) Option 2: ROCK Base Miner Edition - This unit mines and earns $Geod Tokens. The current rewards rate is 96 $Geod tokens per day for a properly installed base. Todays value is around 3 cent per $Geod X 96 per day X 30 day per month = $86 in value per month (by todays numbers - subject to change -I am not giving investment advice!). You can stake out on the network and earn, but no free RTK service. However, you can buy into our stand alone RTK service... see below! 👇 ROCK RTK Network Access - For additional seats on the network, or if you are mining and want to use the network, or if you just want to use the network - subscription starts at $40 per month. Discounts for more users. Chat with ROCK to learn more about bulk access: hello@rockrobotic.com

Hi, I am trying to get an understanding of access to this network. I hope that you @IndianaDrones give a brief statement describing how the network access looks. For example and most importantly to me is the dependency of how far I am located from a base. If there is no base providing corrections locally then I do not have the ability to access corrections. Is that correct? If there is a base within a proximity perhaps defined by Rock, then I can get reliable corrections, is that correct?

I pay way more than $40 a month for my WSRN access. So this would definitely be an option. I could see farmers and construction companies with local, temporary and changing needs buying into this.
