Congratulations David ! You just got yourself one of the best cars ever built by volvo ! Ours will be 20 years 15 of april . It has 300000 km on it . We changed the clutch once , otherwise nothing special ! I think the interior is different from our swedish one . Even the full leather is much thinner . We have semileather or halfleather . O Wonderful roadcar ! We did a trip down to germany some years ago and once you get on the autobahn its only goes and goes ! You wount notice the miles ! We have also volvo sounssystem 603 which is the second biggest with a big sub in front and one in the back . Anyway , groovy ! Nice buy !

oh boy! I'm jealous of that space ball, but I'm happy with my auto R. I can't get rid of it! I haven't been the perfect owner, but I think I've done a decent job of keeping it nice. We got a v60 for traveling and I've been splitting my time. I still prefer to drive the s60R! CongRRRRats! LOL

Yeah that backwheel is bad, but im sure you can save it with alot of Iron off or Fallout(Maybe its cheaper to find another) . some one has been driving metall to metall on thos breaks x(

Both rear bumpers are 05 but the one on the trailer is for the R and the other on is a regular one, i assume when it got smacked in the rear they couldnt get ahold on new r one so they just slapped a regular one on 😄

Check out leatherique! It worked wonders on my 04 S60R and is recommended by tons of R owners. It's a 2 part treatment that take a couple days, but you'll see night and day improvements on the leather....it doesn't just clean it, it also puts oils back into it so it doesn't keep cracking.

You can remove the R cover from the old airbag and put on a used one. Have the recall done and then swap the R cover back on.

Definitely try heat gun and "cerakote trim restore" on those exterior plastics, its cheap and restores permanently to factory finish. My P2 looked new afterward.

That is the worst r in condition I've seen! 😬 U really need to have a carpet cleener to cleen the floor mats. In Sweden I don't think the leather can be so bad. I think the heat made the leather to Crack and to be in the poor condition. I'm so happy you bought it and brining it back in better condition!

I do like the look of these cars. what is your opinion of these Ford involved mid 2000s Volvos compared to the rwd older ones? I've heard many that swear against them for the complexity and the perceived lower reliability.

Afaik Volvo actually designed the P2 platform themselves. Ford had more of a hand in P1 and P3. Yes, they have a lot of electronics compared to older Volvos, more than any older car for that matter. People seem to forget that a Volvo is a Euro car and they think that they can do the bare minimum maintenance and get by fine...spoiler, you cannot. You need to understand how to diagnose computer issues, you need to be resourceful, and you need patience. The common failure points are generally well known.
