I thought it was more than fair. I once paid $37 for DoorDash to deliver me a cold burger a fries. No dessert, no experience, no joy.😢 If you break it down, their meal was $300/ person. If I ordered that same burger and fries from DD 9x a year, I would pay the same thing they did. However, that was the last Dash for me, but I know people who use them a couple of times per week. So they are paying way more. So people really don't have a problem with spending this kind of money, they just have a problem with spending it at one time. But this was a their anniversary, so they got what they wanted. If they had gone out to a nice restaurant, they would have paid probably just as much AND they would have to pay for their drinks, and maybe and Uber, and it's possible that neither the food or the service would have been as good. In all due respect - Some people (me being one of them) First - don't trust just anyones cooking second- perhaps dont want all the processed food chemicals you get from restaurant preped foods ( I was a restaurant mgr. For 5 yrs. Even in fine dining food comes par cooked and has MSG and other ish in it.) And lastly, They are paying for the experience. They have a BEAUTIFUL HOME and maybe they wanted the experience at home. There's quite a few people who do this, and believe me when I say 600.00 is on the affordable end of the scale. I live near Seattle, and for a chef to BRING YOU YOUR FOOD ALREADY COOKED AND CATER TO YOU is starting at 1500.00 for 2 people. That does however include wine and dessert.

A 100% markup is now $100 in food. 30min of prep work, 1hr to cook, drive time and clean up. 3hrs tops. That looked like it came from the food court at the mall. I love supporting black business and I'm constantly buying things i don't need because of it but 600 for chicken dinner for two is wild. Maybe *and this is a hard maybe* for some lobster, steak, sides, and dessert with plenty leftovers. That's almost half my rent.
