Hi Amy! It's really nice to see that you've been to Nanjing too. My aunt lived in Nanjing, so it's part of my childhood memories. I really enjoyed walking under the paulownia trees in Nanjing, the huge trees give the city a very different cityscape from Beijing. Also, Nanjing has a very interesting and historical nickname "Stone City石头城", which I think is probably due wto its ancient city walls and buildings. There is a song about Nanjing called "金陵谣", maybe you can listen to it. They also wrote about Beijing (紫禁), Chengdu (锦中客), Guangzhou (天南歌), Xi'an (长安四韵), and Hangzhou (云山入梦舟). I travel to all these cities and 👂 these songs while roaming the streets.❤

阿要辣油啊 It is a phrase which reveals the spirit of the city : amiability and the sense of good humor. (sometimes maybe even a little bit naughty but in the cute way) Staying in France without coming back to Nanjing for almost 2.5 years (8 years in total), thank you for your video for bring back all the great memories in my city.

Fun fact, Beijing roasted duck was originated from Nanjing roasted duck. It happened back in early ming dynasty when the new emperor moved capital from Nanjing to Beijing. Duck is not a common delicacy elsewhere in northern China.

阿要辣油 is to say " do you want spicy sauce /spicy oil? it is what the person who sell the food ask the costumer , not you ask the vender or clerk

Although I seldom eating duck, but the duck dishes in various cooking methods of Nanjing (南京) are indeed heaven and divine. 💖🦆 The only duck dish that I like is the Peking duck

9:10 isn't that a sauce plate? where you put soya sauce, chilli etc. into. I don't think that's used for individuals to eat from! LOL... nice video though, making me crave for a roast duck now.
