Yes, Blondie's Dad, the part about using the mouth to eat it really cracked me up. Quite a riposte from the guy and his wife was also laughing. ROFL. The thing Amy did not disclose is, I have on good authority the owner of the restaurant is still looking for both of them to pay the humongous bills. I told them to check the Blondie In China channel and ask KZbin for her details to recover the payment.😌😌😌😌😌😌😌

This was a brilliant video, you two work well together as presenters!! I went to David's Masterpot in Melbourne the other day and I always like to try an ingredient I've never tried before because it's easy to just add a tiny bit to your bowl. This time I tried some kind of intestine (I think), it was thin and grey and kind of looked hairy like a tongue. My son tried it first and liked it but I tried it and the texture just freaked me out too much, it was like a tongue on my tongue - kinda like velcro. Anyway, I was inspired by your parents trying all of the things. Thanks again for a fascinating and entertaining show. xx

Fun Fact: So they use Bitter Melon and White Raddish to make the soup base for the beef is because these 2 vegetables 下火 which will offset the properties of beef which is 燥热. This is how people can eat lots of beef and not easily get a sore throat or ulcers or not be able to sleep because you are 上火 or 热气 as cantonese like to say it 😉

I think Chaoshan beef hotpot is a relatively recent invention. I am Singaporean of Teochew descent. My ancestral hometown is actually Jieyang, which I've never been to before, and I've never tried Chaoshan beef hotpot. As overseas Teochews we don't have this dish because when our ancestors left China it wasn't invented yet
@wanben35243 жыл бұрын
@@YummYakitori I see. I thought it was a long-existed dish of the region. It was a novel dish to me when I was introduced by my friend when in Jieyang. I was impressed with the fact that they only used fresh meat for their customers. You should go to Jieyang to experience it :-)

That's interesting, it seems that in Asia they are using freshly killed cows for their beef (less than 4 hours here). I've heard that beef is better when matured in specific conditions, the fibers get more tender than right after the death, that's why in the west usually the beef matures at least 2 weeks before being sold (and much longer for some specially expensive one).
@yufeiwu1703 жыл бұрын
