Decent review there Hannah, what really stood out was the spin rate on the HL, by far the best overall performing of the three in your particular review, there are so many very low handicap players that game the HL because the stopping power with the long irons is so superb and they are so versatile when it comes to shot shaping and lower trajectory shot when required. Look out for the JPX 925 Forged in the new year..!!
@JDSFLA4 ай бұрын
Hot Metal and Hot Metal Pro have the same lofts, so I would expect that performance would be the same for a good striker like you who will find center. If your strike wanders somewhat then Hot Metal is preferred as its slightly larger head will be more forgiving. HL has weaker lofts for higher, but shorter, shots - good for a low ball hitter or someone with slower swing speed. HL also has the largest heads, and will help the most with inconsistent strikes. Thank you for the review.

got fitted for the 925 HL a couple months back, they have been an absolute game changer for me! easy to hit, stopping power on the greens even with the longer irons, gives me so much more confidence. they are pretty chunky, and i do prefer the looks of the 923's personally, but easy to look past that with the results :)

I have the high launch from last year - I couldn't believe how much my iron play improved with them. I'm hitting more greens and actually have to repair pitch marks which I never had to do in the past 🤣 Love them. For reference - I'm a beginner who started last November and started with cobra fly xl set. I wasn't getting them very high at all hence why I went with the HL. Shooting between 90 - 100 on my local course.

Looking forward to the 925 Forged coming out soon! Should be a weaker loft through out the set. My current set is 31 deg 7 iron. Compared to these I think I’d hit the HL set too. Like the lofts.

The HL’s may not go as far but I’m sure a lot of that is weaker lofts, and with them going higher, spinning more, and landing steeper as someone who struggles holding greens I’ll take that

Always love to see new Mizuno offerings. These look even better than prior years. You and I have similar distances. Although you are way more consistent and more stylish. Been a huge fan of their irons for 20+ years. That goes back. Had the HMP 919s 5 seasons. Kept them vs 921 or 923 because they didn't have the so strong lofts. I wanted a little more distance but not a full club. Modus shafts . Loved them but due to injury went to a Recoil graphite shaft in 923 Forged. Lovely. And the forged is just that little bit better feel. BTW, I did manage a runner up and 2 City division titles (2 days) with the HMP.

I’ve been playing the 923 HM Pro since last January and they are awesome. They are hot and feel like a Mizuno. Previously played JPX800 Pro Forged which are more typical lofts as the 7 iron is 33 degrees. But I have the Recoil F3 95 shafts which made a huge difference in feel. The thing I noticed most after using them is how I can feel the heads better which has helped control. I did gain some distance. I’m a senior golfer and need a bit more distance. Still play as 7 WHS handicap.

I initially purchased the the JPX 921 Pro with PX LZ 5.5 shafts. I liked the shafts but the heads were a bit chunky and somewhat strong lofted. And what I wanted was a tad more ball flight height so when prices came down I later picked up the JPX 921 Forged with PX IO 5.5 shafts. I prefer the JPX Forged moreso and haven't switched to anything newer because the lofts have gotten stronger and I don't need that in my game.

Hi Hannah, thx. for your helpful videos away from technical advice. How about comparing areally old modell i.e. MX 23 with lite steel shafts to new irons taking into account that all manufacterers changed lofts dramatically. Would be interested, if - lets say - a 7iron JPX is much superior to a 6 iron MX23 (should be nearly the same loft).

just got fitted and went with the 925 HM's, didnt try the pro's or HL's as they didnt have em and the pros i think would be a little less forgiving for me, overall just excited about them the HM's felt amazing to me from 1999 Mizuno T-zoid Comp EZ's lol..using 25year old hand me downs and i guess staying on brand was the way after a year of playing mizuno, these new ones felt the best. QI10's i did not like at all loved the look felt terrible for me...hit Cobra darkspeed great once before my fitting but terribly during it..callaway big berthas i hit super long and super straight but low spin and would overshoot greens considering my 7I was going 196yards which doesn't compute with my brain for a 7 iron
@DayzahVoo3 ай бұрын
how you explained seeing the backline of the club i weirdly loved, hated it in the big bertha as it felt like there was a lego piece of the back of my club, but with the mizuno the angle of it almost allowed me to mentally find the center face easier as the back line part that shows has an angle towards the toe and just behind it is the center face which for me helped a lot can see how it would bother some.

I’ve seen the specs on all three clubs. The HM and HM Pro have a 7 iron at 28 degrees. That is WAY TOO jacked. In contrast the HM HL has lofts that are fairly equivalent to my Srixon ZX5 Mk II irons. I guess I don’t see the demographic for the HM or HM Pro - a high handicap golfer with blazing swing speed?

They stagger the releases of their product lines... mizuno pro clubs in even years 2022, 2024 etc. And jpx odd years 23, 25 etc. And then they split the hot metal Sept release and forged/pro January. The numbers in the club name are also a give away on their release date. 241 came out 2024 and replaced 221. Mizuno is on a 2 year lifecycle Every other manufacturer is on a 1 year product life cycle
