I wish Capcom could redo the previous Street Fighter collection in this style, but then I remembered that there’s a possibility that Capcom could include those games in Street Fighter 6’s Battle Hub. They’re already emulating CPS1 & 2 games in the RE Engine through the Capcom Arcade Stadium games. All they need now is CPS3 emulation for the SFIII games. Either way, it’s good to know that if a Marvel vs. Capcom legacy collection does happen, it’ll probably be done well if Capcom Fighting Collection is any indication. That said, I would hope that Capcom will get cross-play sorted out before then. But Street Fighter 6 is already confirmed to have full cross-play, so that bridge will be crossed in the near future outside of SFV. Darkstalkers has had a very odd history regarding ports. Surprisingly, the first game ported to home consoles was Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge on the Sega Saturn in early 1996. Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors, the first game, came to the PS1 later that year. The ports of Vampire Savior to Saturn and PS1 in 1998 were special editions that combined all versions of VSAV (including VHUNT2); you could set the game mode in settings and all characters were included from all versions. Dreamcast’s Vampire Chronicle for Matching Service in 2000 and PSP’s Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower in 2005 are essentially akin to Hyper Street Fighter II, allowing you to fight as any version of characters against one another with the Vampire Savior stages. From what I understand, Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection, a Japan-Only PS2 collection in 2005, had all five Arcade accurate ports, the first time ever. I’m not sure if they are 100% accurate (a few very minor changes/differences may exist), but characters that were or were not in the arcade versions stayed in/out accordingly, though there are unlockable remixes of VSAV, VSAV2, and VHUNT2 that permit ALL characters in those versions, and it’s the sole appearance of Dee, the version of Donovan who has given into his demonic blood as hinted at in his ending. From there, we got Darkstalkers Resurrection in 2013 for PS3 and XBox 360, arcade accurate ports of Night Warriors & Vampire Savior with decent rollback . It’s a shame there wasn’t a mode allowing for Donovan, Huitzil, and Pyron in Vampire Savior like all previous releases. And that’s a brief history of the Darkstalkers series releases on home ports…for now…

hey max, I'm sorry for disturbance. I saw your stream where you played capcom fighting collection, as well as the part, where you played red earth. I know, this game might be really weird at first, but it's actually a gem of a fighting game, and I'm talking about the "player vs player" mode. This game actually has a lot of depth, and considering this is a 4 character fighting game, this says a lot. every character is unique, hell Mai-ling (who is a shoto of this game) plays like an MVC character. Red Earth even has a competetive scene since 2019. Our Discord server even announces tournaments every week. there was even a tournament with 1000 euro pool. CF collection actually has an option to Enable MAX LEVEL characters without codes. so you don't need to input the code in order to play the max level character. also about the player you fought (ghostshroom), I apologize on his behalf :D he is actually the best red earth player and he decided to show what tessa can do in this game. there was a huge stat difference between you two, it was unfair fight. so enable "default max levels" next time you play so someone wouldn't do the same again :D please, if you decide to check red earth again, I can help you out with mechanics, how to play this game and explain what makes it unique compare to other fighting games. Red Earth is a very easy, and fun game, but also very deep and teaches you a lot. The Red Earth community did a lot of research for this game, so there is even a wiki, where you can check info about this game. there are a lot of cool combos to try out. but right now, if you have any questions, I can help you with everything

Good showcase of the collection. My primary interest is Darkstalkers and Red Earth, but having Puzzle Fighter & Pocket Fighter on there is such a huge bonus. People question their inclusion, especially Puzzle Fighter, but it encapsulated so much of the Capcom fighting game zeitgeist of the time (the absurd title, the combining of Street Fighters, Darkstalkers, and Cyberbots characters, the aesthetics borrowed from Street Fighter Alpha) and just the fantastic fun and charm inherent to both games. After Darkstalkers and Red Earth, I’d love to see a follow-up to Puzzle/Pocket Fighter with the same fun and charm, including all the franchises that were introduced past 1996. Good showcase of the Capcom Fighting Collection. I hope you have more plays online for it in the future. I’d love to see more of your fans get into these games!

Picked this up day one. I’m absolutely loving this collection, and I finally get to play the Darkstalkers games 😁. My only complaint, which I found today, is that you can’t have more than one quick save at a time across all the games*. *I had a quick save set in Cyberbots, then tried to set another in Pocket Fighter and it said it’d overwrite my Cyberbots save.

Fun story; I went to a panel at MAGfest where one of the main guys that worked on SF 30th Anniversary talked about preservation. I remember regarding not just that collection but all (SNK, Disney etc.), he said something like "we wanted to focus on the museum aspect and not so much the stability of online. Just make sure the games run but put focus on the gallery".
@Darknight06813 ай бұрын
I am absolutely not surprised at this if it’s true. That collection always seemed to be more about the museum and historical aspects than it was the games themselves. Because lord they were missing some basic features that even before that was even standard. And the fact that all the games weren’t online was a bummer. Especially Alpha 2 and Second Impact. Like on a basic level the collection was alright, but after CFC it just feels WRONG.

This collection is great. Like its really, REALLY polished. It's so much better than the SF Anniversary Collection. Deep down I'm hoping we can get some kind of update, even if its paid, to bring those SF games in to this collection so that they have the same seamless online/training/etc. as this game does. I know it probably won't happen, but I can dream.

Can’t wait to get it this coming week and finally play Red Earth! I’m so damn HYPED! 🤩 Speaking of Red Earth, think you could make a playthrough of that game, Max?
@HBProductionMugen2 жыл бұрын
Red earth is a fantastic fighting game, and yes I'm talking about player vs player mode as well. Unfortunately max didn't like it because 1) he didn't put "enable max level characters as default" for lobby, and he fought as lvl1 leo against lvl32 tessa, who is actually the best tessa player (we have community of red earth since 2019, prize pool tournaments, discovered a lot of stuff and completed the wiki). He fought 1 match and quit insantly. 2) when he was playing the arcade run, he didn't understand how game works and also left the arcade run. In honesty. Red earth is a treasure of a fighting game. Game has 4 characters and has a lot of depth. There are fighting games with huge rosters and they still can't come close to what red earth has to offer. Discord community is expanding and discovering new stuff every day, including me. If you decide to check that game, you can ask me for tips (here or on discord), or check out the wiki. You won't regret it

@@pleaseshutup7053 trust me, even though it has 4 character, everyone will play the same characters differently and all of them are effective in their own unique way Universal mechanics are unique for each character (dash properties are unique, pursuit attacks are unique. @@pleaseshutup7053 Red Earth is a bit weird. It has some of the best sprite animations for any game at that time and it also has the best story mode for any fighting game at the time. There's a reason why Red Earth is the centre of every promo art for this collection. This was Capcom at their best.

This looks great. My main gripe about buying it for console though is basically because of all the artwork in the gallery: I'm pretty sure on PC you can actually save the images in a way and then make them wallpapers on your monitor, even sharing with your mobile phone to save there to use as wallpaper and share from there even, while on console version you basically just look at images, and, nothing more.
