This Content Is Embarrassing

the pinnacle of all videos that spend most of its time not being serious.
This video will see me address a bizarre KZbin channel, go into an overly long parody of sorts to point out the problem with a lot of its content, and then tie it all together in the end.
Many of the problems with Cougar MacDowall's questionable channel are blatantly obvious, so when I set out to make a video on it, I didn't want to spend alot of time addressing these things, because why waste your time just stating the obvious. Because of this, the initial script was very short. So to better address the problems and give me more to go on, I changed the initial script a little, and added a whole segment of me using this channels terrible logic on itself to show how the results are embarrassing and terrible. So do keep in mind, don't take the parody criticism bit litterally.

This video is not a call to go harass Cougar MacDowall. You should CRITICISE him, just not harrass him. There is a difference. Criticizing his content allows you to make point on while current actions of his should change, but harassing him makes you look vile, and not worth paying attention to.

The weird thing about cougar is that when you watch his puppet reaction videos he acknowledges the criticism that people have of his channel and even says that he himself hates it and recently has made slightly more normal videos but still chooses to make videos with weird thumbnails here and there. So you begin to ask what exactly his deal is, is he trying to improve or not? Does he hate his content or not? Does he actually like Godzilla or not? At the end of the day I don't really hate him, I actually kind of feel sorry for him and I do want him to make good content and succeed. The obvious answer here is that he's just continuing to make those kinds of videos for money. And I honestly doubt he really doesn't like the kind of content he's making, he literally hires people to make those thumbnails for him most of the time and is well aware that those videos get the most views, and thus he continues to milk the system for that sweet revenue despite the actually legit problems that come with doing that. Such as the fact that his very clearly young audience is being subjected to these borderline TOS breaking thumbnails, community posts and comic dubs and he often fails to credit people correctly (if even at all). I honestly doubt that he is trying to improve or hell, maybe he doesn't wanna improve at all. I don't know, I'm not Cougar. But it sure as hell to me looks like he has little to no regret in the content he's making due to how much he's gaining from it despite it's legitimate issues. If he were actually focused on improving his content, he'd at the very least drop the suggestive thumbnails, yet he hasn't. I could be wrong about this, but this is the impression I'm getting from his content and his words regarding it.

The main thing is that the thumbnails are bad. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with making up your own personalities for kaiju if it somewhat alines with the character. For an example Space Godzilla being a lazy drunk uncle in Quazies videos but nobody hates him for him making up an entire new personality for space goji.

The Rubezz Godzillaverse doesn’t follow a set continuity, it's more of a merger of all Godzilla media, for example, Shin Godzilla is canonically a separate character from Godzilla and he creeps the other kaiju out (his debut in cougar's dub is a great example of how cougar used to be good)

I remember I watched a few of his videos back in 2019/2020 around when KOTM came out. I was thoroughly unimpressed by the voice acting, didn't get why he gave so many of the characters random accents, and didn't find any of his improv funny. While I can say his voice acting seems to have improved, it's disappointing to know that the other two issues still exist in full force on top of the new thumbnail issue. Several years ago, I stumbled upon this guy’s channel when he was just starting out. The content was much more normal back then, just a bunch of memes really. Then I stopped watching him for a while, probably about 1 or 2 years. When I came back, his channel was COVERED in the suggestive content he’s known for today, latching onto whatever trend he could get his hands on. It was genuinely sad to see, and his content hasn’t improved since.
