@Gary Galland. It can have a better sound if he gets those mufflers nice and hot, and shoves a water hose up inside the mufflers and gives the insides of the glass packs a nice cold drink and shatters the insides of those mufflers, after that is done, then and only then he will get that rumble you referred to. By the way, I run glass packs on every vehicle I have ever owned. Just Love that deep throaty rumble from those duals. By the way in my opinion age has nothing to do with good sound, I am 67 years young. Nuff Said.

From a custom exhaust guy. It looked good but the hangers need to be turned in line with the pipe. When you accelerate the exhaust system slides backward slightly. The hangers need to move with the pipe. Just look at the factory hangers. With the hangers turned the wrong way they will snap in half in a few months. Took me a few years to figure out why I was fixing so many broken hangers. Lol

@@kevinwilliams563 well as crazy as that was...and coming from what some would call a Chevy guy, me only because that's what my first car was a 74 nova ss ,slap stick b&m shifter ,10 bolt diff with Posi 350 small block ,but I blew a u joint almost every weekend. I took it in for dual exhaust to a reputable dealer Midas,wanted bottles but they wouldn't sell them to me,said they were illegal!!! Me being very naive at 18 went with regular stock mufflers,and wished I would have just left that dealer and went somewhere else, but I didn't know better . And needed the whole exhaust system made and installed. I think it cost me around $600 I really can't recall . It wasn't cheap. Anyway,In my years I've just went Chevy, gm Olds, GMC ...then got a ford and a Dodge they all have something that is good and bad, I still have one spark plug to replace on my GMC full size van ,but it's been year's and I probably never will get it done,unless I take a grinder to the cab 😜✌️

The Tri-Five Chevy you have is a 1956. The easy way to tell the '55 from the '56 is to look at the left rear quarter panel - if you don't see a door to the gas cap, it's a 1956. How does one put gas in the car you ask? Stand behind the left rear tail light assembly and look just above the tail light bulb, you'll see a small piece of metal just above the red lens. That piece of metal is actually a knob, turn it to the right and the whole assembly drops down to reveal the gas cap. So cool! Of course it's easy to tell a '57 from a '56 or a '55 because the '57 has those distinctive, pointy tail fins - equally cool!😃

my guess is they drink bud light and use the wrong rest room too.. confusion isn't a good thing.

@@scottcochran384 I get what you’re saying but I seriously doubt the type that drinks Bud light or uses the wrong restroom knows or even cares enough to mess with a car or truck. They wouldn’t even know which end of the wrench goes where. . .

It’s the side steps and the fact that they didn’t cutoff the old body mounts that bother me about this ride. Other than those small details I think it’s cool. The side steps have got to go!
@UmmmmmmmWhat
@UmmmmmmmWhat Жыл бұрын
I agree on the old body mounts, but the steps may be there as rock sliders too. Maybe that's wishful thinking, but i'd like to think the guy goes wheeling in this. Possibly lose the steps and fab up rock sliders that look like side exhausts?

@@UmmmmmmmWhat those wouldn’t last one minute as rock sliders super thin metal would just hang you up and get ripped off and ruin the rockers of that beautiful car.

Good lord you people are insufferable, you act like Bel Airs aren't literally everywhere and can't be had for chump change. Go out and pay a couple grand for one and let it sit and rot in your front yard like the rest of the population if you really want one.

Good old Cherry bombs. I had those on two different cars about 50 years ago. A junker '59 Impala and a nice '72 Skylark coupe. Those Cherry Bombs made that 350 in the Buick sound really nice.

My Dad bought a brand new 1957 Chevy at 20 yrs old. He put loud pipes on it and was dating my Mom in the town nearby. He'd drive through the country and this small burg of 10 houses and a railroad crossing. One night the Sheriff was sitting there waiting for him so they could have a discussion about his "loud car" waking the countryside on his ride home. Imagine that happening today.

My first car was a 1956 Chevy Bel Air. Last seen, many decades ago, it had long since turned into a pile of iron oxide dust. But it was a lot of fun in its time. It's great fun to see an old '56 looking so good.

Glad you knew the OG trick of running the glasspack louvers backwards. Mellows the sound. Was trying to see where that Suburban chassis was shortened (or was it a Tahoe and maybe OK?).

Here in Australia they are called Hot Dogs, To get the harsh note out we would put another one in just before the end. They were a small one less than 12 inchs long. Kept the sound without the harshness,
