Paul, if you are going to use that truck as a people mover, you should look into adding the back half of a suburban instead of making it a short bed. A 6 door suburban would definitely stand out in a crowd.

Honestly a Suburban is a better people mover. More leg room in the back seat and without the 3rd seat there is plenty of room for gear and it will stay protected. Also boo on short bedding it. Long live the long bed!!
@ikecal8217

Don’t shortbed it! You ruin the proportions - use a Suburban as people mover, you got plenty on your little junk yard down the road…

Easy swap except for the roof stepping up... depending on where you cut the crewclub cab in the rear door. Burbs had 22 body mounts... they sure are very capable offroad rigs though! Great weight transfer ect.

It just amazes me they can haul a 34 year old junker out of a field where it has been sitting for 14 years with every wire and piece of rubber in it destroyed, and have it running in an afternoon or two.

The vertical creeper was instantly the best part of this video! I'm a 13 year incomplete-paraplegic. Paralyzed from knee down but I can stand assisted but when you need both of your hands to work I have to lean against the core support of the engine bay with my chest and after a few hours my chest becomes extremely red and bruised. That lasts for a few days after as well. This is going to make working on the vehicles wayyyyyyyyyy more comfortable! O M G

About 10 years ago, someone came and scrapped a truck that was almost identical just because he couldn't get it to run. Unfortunately, our employee policy was we couldnt buy anything once it was in the junkyard parking lot. I was absolutely in awe that someone would scrap such an amazing truck. Though, we had a lot more rare and pristine things pass through...

SUGGESTION: Not sure if this would work but what about mounting a trailer hitch on the side between the rear door and the rear fender and slightly tucked under the side panel.......But as high as possible so does not hit when 4x4ing.........This would keep your sidewalls on the bed of the truck intact for hauling purposes.......Then plug in a portable winch (maybe not too powerful so it would be light for easy transport) like Matt does on his banana and that could secure a line from the side of the support vehicle to the side of a (tipping) vehicle, without having to move the support truck around.......maybe one trailer hitch on each side..........and when done, the portable winch is secured back inside the bed of the truck.......truck would have 3 winches, with all four sides available for winching........very capable as a support vehicle.....Food for thought
