That customer got ripped off, that car is only worth $15,000 for a 2018 with 80,000 miles with a clean title. By the time they fix everything you broke on that car not knowing what you are doing, they are going to pay more then market price. You need to do more research on clean title car prices

Your customer base were people looking for cheap rides, something that was cheap and easy to maintain, you got away from that. People are doing their research on cars these days. Your customer base is seeing what you have to sell and they are passing on it.

Why will he buy them and sell them as they are….. pumping cars that are not road worthy into the streets? Who is going to buy? The buyer could easily go to the auction and buy there. Here is his issue: By now, he should have known what cars to buy that his mechanic or auto body guy/paint guy will easily (for little money) fix, and the he will do a thorough cleaning of the car…. and then sell for a good price. Sadly, he does not have a good working relationship with an affordable mechanic. To his credit, he has a good auto-body/spray painter (Rich) guy. The best short cut for him is to LEARN the basics of auto body repair and HOW to clean up a car…… he thinks he does, but he DOES NOT. He got “street experience” for fixing cars and has made profits with the sales of some cars….so he is unwilling to upgrade himself….. instead, he is trying to make ignorant people pay for his quack knowledge about buying cars from the auction.
