I'm 25 as well and my Grandfather was born in 1920 in a small village in Italy, moved to metro detroit in 1926 as a kid, and later fought on the ground in WW2 and then worked for Ford until he passed away at 86. He always refused to talk about the horrors of war, but while I was in elementary school I remember him telling me to find a good woman, have a good family and be a hard worker. Even such simple actions like that are harder to come by everyday. Mindless promiscuity is everywhere now, many young people don't want to have families anymore and instead engage in pure hedonism, as well as not caring about scamming or taking advantage of others to get ahead. Each generation is becoming more and more degenerate, weak, and ignorant.

@@shelbyspeaks3287 No shit sherlock, you established what everyone already knows, yeah not every soldier was good or bad, but that doesn't change the fact that A LOT of good soldiers died during that war, or should say a lot of soldiers die in a lot of wars fighting for what they believe is best, because let's be real, who in their right mind would willingly fight on the frontlines of battle with all of the gunshots and blood everywhere? With the prospect that in any moment you could have your arm, hand, face, ear, whatever you have connected to you can be severed/cut off almost instantly, doesn't matter if they were good nor bad they still put their lives on the lines and suffered through the grave consequences. It's also true that, if not given the context we wouldn't expect grace from everyone, that is also true, there were many numerous nameless soldiers that died who don't recieve grace nor acknowledgement from anyone because nobody knows that they served, nor died, nor can they even identify their very body, but that still gives us NO excuse to disrespect their graves, we quite literally live off of their hardwork, after world war II, hell the success of the baby boomers can quite literally be summarized by "the spoils of world war II", we live in an era where blacks are no longer treated as slaves, because American citizens and soldiers fought and killed each other during the civil war, and they were so afraid of being forgotten that during the civil war they created the first dog tags to their bodies and can be identified after their deaths. So to answer your statements to op, what you're saying is technically true but is glossing over the entire point of op's post and nit picks it with a "Well technically 🤓". A LOT of good soldiers died, sons, husbands, fathers, would be grandfathers, uncles going into this war, and maybe the higher up politicians weren't going in for "freedom" but these run-of-the-mill soldiers had no idea about any of the technical aspects of what these politicians were up to, in their eyes their loved ones at home are at threat of a big disastrous war, and the propanga during that time shoved that in their face with posters left and right talking about how "You should join the army now to protect your loved ones at home", in their minds and their actions they fully believed they were fighting for their freedom back home as well as their loved ones. Just because a few bad soldiers were in the army, does that excuse that fact that millions of people died, and millions more families, and friends were soul crushed by this fact and the fact that their actions; however small, made a big enough change to change the world into what we live in today? Sure it's not the best world, but it was certainly a better world it was then and before couldn't you agree?

If you can't show a quirk and go into a specialized field you lose the opportunity for work because the menial labour you were able to do 50 years ago is replaced by robotics or factory AI. Not to mention the US 50 years ago after ww2 had an economic boom which allowed boomers to steal all the wealth instead of investing the the countries futures. @Casper’s Studio Things we’re better back in the day. When race riots broke out, we had the temerity to put them down, when crime got out of hand, we had the temerity to punish it, rather than granting lenience and claiming the “solution” is somehow “more redistribution” (which amounts to using crime as extortion). Those who defended the virtues of our civilization were normal, and those who criticized them were the deviants, but today, it’s almost the other way around. People saw reality for what it was, realizing that cultural norms and morals are NOT “relative”, some are objectively better than others, just as people are based on their innate ability/inability to live up to those objective values, and we weren’t blinded by egalitarian propaganda that seeks to level civilization down to the lowest common denominator (a recipe for primitivity). We had the temerity to safeguard our cultural, and thus demographic, continuity, so we didn’t ignore our own laws to let third world “refugees” (many of whom are only fleeing their own societies’ inability to prosper by its own efforts, rather than actual emergencies) and migrants into our nations en masse, and our leaders didn’t gaslight us by celebrating the impending demographic change themselves, but then calling us “conspiracy theorists” for criticizing the trend. If internationalist, globalist, cosmopolitan, socialist, anti-white revolutionaries got too uppity, we put them down; now, to do so is regarded as a “human rights violation”, while such force is acceptable against right-wingers merely for demonstrating in public, because they’re labeled as a “threat to democracy” (by which the establishment means LIBERAL democracy and SOCIAL democracy; they deny the “legitimacy” of democracy if it’s outcomes are ever “reactionary” or even sufficiently conservative). If it keeps up, our civilization won’t last another century or two tops. Things absolutely used to be better.

In Europe when a region has its own identity, it has this idea of forming its own country. In America, we have various identities, but we’re all American. That’s what united a Texan, a New Yorker, and a West coaster. However each region have their own values. The South was always a small town baptist agrarian country community, while in the North it was more urban and diverse region, with Irish-German Catholics and English-Scottish-Dutch Protestants in the big cities and the cold country side. The 10 year gap I have…. Has shocked me….. I cry with this man. I love you sir. Thank you for your service. We deserve what we get now. We are going to hell. That day of judgment is nearly here. I feel it in my bones. Any day now. I’m so beat to shit over being home I do Fucking cry. Jesus is coming. I’m ready. As best I can be. And to all service members. Love you guys. We didn’t fail them. They failed us. Additionally….. every veteran that served in this longest war in American history….. will go home. I’ve seen it in dreams. I’ve watched us go and leave these evil people behind. Everyone hates everyone, crime and murder is out of control, People are more divided then almost ever before. It's just one big powder keg waiting to go over. And this election in November could be the one that does it. This is going to single handedly be the most influential elections we have ever had in many decades in terms of policy. Maybe even this century. If Kamala wins this will be the first female president the United states has ever had. If trump wins this will be the first time we ever had a convicted felon in office. I wholeheartedly agree with him. His generation was lucky enough to have been saved from the Great Depression by the policies of the New Deal and later the Great Society. When he was coming up, Americans could afford healthcare, housing, education, and jobs were in abundance. Unfortunately his generation raised the Baby Boomers whose own undiagnosed narcissism had them believe that they succeeded through hard work and not due to the support they had from their parents. These same Boomers voted politicians into office who sold our jobs overseas, cut benefits for Americans, and crippled our education and healthcare system all in the name of "personal responsibility". Now we're dealing with the fall out and most Boomers still continue to think the world owes them something and blame all their problems on everyone but themselves.

I don't think a lot of the people in the comments fully understand what he was talking about. He meant every layer of American society (especially the military) is different from what it was back in his time, not just TikTokers, "leftists," and people who don't like the US. I think his point was mainly about how we went from fighting wars against objectively evil enemies like the Nazis, the Japanese Empire, and to a degree the Soviets to... well whatever this is today - fighting unpopular wars out in the jungle and deserts, electing either egotistically crazed or mentally unfit presidents, arguing about it all in KZbin comment sections, etc.

Nailed it. Except for the military part. The military has improved ALOT. It was beyond corrupt in the 40s and 50s. Patton nowadays wouldv been labelled a criminal for what he did during the war. Especially after Vietnam, the Military stopped operating like some "sacred traditional gov agency", and started acting alot more like a coproration, in a good way. Military really became alot more effiicient and did its job properly after Vietnam. Before, the military was corrupt, but the Politicians did their job. Now its swapped. The military is operationally competent, while the Politicians operate on the mental level of toddlers. When the most right wing president in history, Donald Trump, calls George Bush an imperialist war criminal, then you know shit is fucked. Serbia and Iraq was useless. Sure it was objectively "moral", but we had zero right to be in those countries. Trump wouldv gone down a hero if he actually went thru his isolationist policy.

He's right that "nobody'll have the opportunity I had", though: in the 1950s, the average UK house price was £1,891, or 3.6 years'-worth of an average contemporary person's salary. In the 2020s, average house price is £237,834, or 6.4 years'-worth of an average contemporary household's income. He fought for UK, and for NHS, and everything else in order to watch being ruined by selfish greedy politicians.

I understand his sentiment. We don't have the opportunity or the fun anymore like he said. We just get to experience everything going down the drain. I think that's why people bitch so much. Deep down we all know that the American dream is gone. We're all going along pretending everything is fine and it isn't. When I was 18, I wanted to go in the military but would have been disqualified due to some medical issues. Now, I'd never want to go, other than for the benefits. Now, I'd feel guilty to try and go, wondering what God forsaken conflict I'd be sent to for the enrichment of a politician. I watched the way the VA treated my grandfather decades after his service in Vietnam and I saw what the war did to him many years later. That was enough education for me.

God bless this man, I always say listen too and respect your elders for there age is not something to be looked down upon but it is a sign of wisdom. They know and have seen things you cannot even begin imagine. And the case of this man his wisdom is worth a sack of gold, I never grow tired of talking with my grand parents asking them of how things used to be and how things have changed since there days, i wish we could go back to the 40’s and 50’s when the nuclear family and marriage was a cherished institution. And where God was not shunned from public life and education. I hope this man is in one of gods angels in the Kingdom of heaven. 🙏✝️

Rainbow flags on govt buildings and crosswalks, crossdressers in lingerie, reading books to 8 year old kids.. And, nazi statues in my city and another somewhere else.. Whole parliament gave nazi dude standing ovations, our connections to the azov boys... Like dude, we're nazi sympathizers AND have all this woke stuff going on. Different ideas based on the same values can balance each other out, and coexist in the public debate, but our case is entirely different. Progressivism is about tearing down the values and traditions of an established people to push for globalist ideas and agenda, cause most of the time tradition gets in the way of establishing their policies, while Conservadorism is the complete opposite, is the respect for the said culture and traditional values such as family, religion, spirituality and clear moral values. Both are anathema to witch other, a progressive would never negotiate with a conservationist and vice versa. For instance, a person for abortion would never discuss it with someone that is against it, this is a non-compromise discussion, for the progressive to submit and limit for x insatnces is already against its vision, its oppression, and for someone against the notion of abortion in most instances said act is literally murder, so it won compromise to allow in x instances. In this particular instance, one will keep pushing back the other until there is a victor and the loser will be probably outlawed and suppressed. Unfortunately, the global political scheme is polarized and you have two realistic choices you are either a progressive or a conservationist there is nothing in between with enough political expression
