Seriously good video. The only thing I would like to see (as a viewer) would be a before shot of the bike (in box or complete however you got it) for comparison to the final cleaned result. A single, fixed angle, time lapse of you breaking down the bike would always be welcome in every breakdown/cleaning video, that is something I won't ever get sick of. So there is a little feedback from a single viewer, maybe it will help, maybe not. Anyway, all the angles and editing really show how much time and effort you put into these videos, thank you for making them.

Cam, what's the advantage of leaving the swingarm and linkage bearings in while cleaning only to remove them and possibly messing up your work? Seems like you could clean the bearing housing along with the frame.
@CameronNiemela7 жыл бұрын
The linkage bearings are uncaged needle bearings and they fall apart very easily once the bushing has been removed. Not something I want to happen in the pressure cabinet. Once water gets into these bearings it's hard to get it all out as well.
@250xfz66 жыл бұрын
Cameron i love this video specificly because ive done all this work many times pretty much the same way and i believe its the way to bring an old beat bike back to a refresh and being just like new. the usual problems are linkage headset swingarm and shock bearings that are the furthest gone

I'd try simple green degreaser first, and if that doesn't do it go with the aluminum cleaner. You'll have to use a wire brush, scotch brite pad, or detail brush. Aluminum Cleaner: amzn.to/2wld1dn Degreaser: amzn.to/2xp97DE Denture Brush: amzn.to/2gWbbbz Scuff Pad: amzn.to/2gV90se Wire Brush: amzn.to/2eYbMfN

What would you recommend to clean all white plastics and white graphics and aluminum frame? I cleaned my yz250f up with magic erasers and purple power watered down. It worked good but i want to clean my frame this time and get the stains out of the graphics.

Is it really not so good to take the TPS sensor off the carb too? I saw you left it on. I accidentally took mine off (got the same FCR carb) when cleaning it. kind of eyeballed it when putting it back on to make sure the end slot on the throttle shaft lines up with the TPS rotating part. ended up not being in the middle actually with the torx screw, but towards the end of the adjustment range.
@CameronNiemela6 жыл бұрын
Yes, not a good idea to pull the TPS since it is factory set. Hope you can get it back in the same spot without it needing a tune.
