This Dark Brotherhood Quest's PACIFIST Ending... sort of

This is the little known story of How to Complete the task of Murdering the Pirate Captain Tassuad in the quest A Watery grave for the Dark Brotherhood, in without actually killing him in Oblivion.
After entering the dark brotherhood sanctuary & introducing ourselves to our fellow assassins, we find ourselves looking for our first official contract, in the bowels of their cavernous hideout.
Inside a room tucked away it its core is the Vampiric Stricken Vicente Valtieri, who greets when we approach him for the first time.

Our third option comes to us when speaking to the ships first mate who threatens,
Realizing the pirates mean business, we can take teneivas advice & opt again to break into the captains quarters at the stern of the ship.
This time however, once Tussaud is alerted to our presence, we do not attempt to fight him or his crew, rather we can burst through the rear door of the ship we had just broken into, with pirates in tow & chased down by the aggravated Captain who attempts to make us pay for our trespassing. Unfortunately, in a cruel twist of fate, the local guards will defend us ‘ as from their perspective they witness a gaggle of pirates spilling out of their ship to murder an innocent civilian.
Our final option, as promised, is the most passive one to date.
We break into the captains quarters in the dead of night, banking on Tussaud falling asleep.
We then stealthily approach the slumbering captain, & pluck his sword & items of his person, as we did his crew.
Then, with the captain now defenseless we remember the poison apple we purchased & place it on his person.
After which we remove ANY edible items in his cabin & simply wait for him to rouse from his slumber.
Tussaud then predictably rises & begins his day by taking a seat at his dining table.
We then stride up to the surprised pirate who is taken aback by our presence
With three options we first opt to stay on brand & say nothing.

Killing off those pirates is always one of the very first things I do. Free player home and deck is cleared for this quest later.

@@spartanq7781 the ship itself. They never respawn, the containers never reset, the only people who see it as trespassing are the now dead pirates, and it has beds. Perfect for a free player home.

I almost always use the Marie Elena as a free home myself, but I think that only the Captains Chest and a few sacks are safe. I'm pretty sure most other containers respawn.

Fun fact: You can aggro all the pirates and then run to a guard and a bunch more guards will appear to kill the pirates without you fighting.

Love the different approaches to the DB quests. For this quest I wasn’t sneaky enough so I got caught while on the ship and had to fight the entire crew and quickly kill the captain before running out with two more pirates chasing after me. Basically I had the worst approach possible lol

The first time I played Oblivion was years after it came out I bought a copy for the Xbox 360 from a thrift store and I remember my first play through I went to the Dark Brotherhood and I had the vampire turn me into a vampire so I kept dying because of the sun and the game crashed a lot because the disc was slightly cracked

I always wondered what species of vampyre vicente was, because in the vampire handbook of oblivion vicente sounds like an imperial strain of vampire, and when u become vampire u share the same traits, almost unrecognisable if sustained with blood, like in the book, about the priest and vampire hunter and the priest was telling him how to hunt different types of vampyre, skyrim vvardenfell etc but tyrned out the priest was imperialist vampire and was extra hungry, maybe it was called "killing before your killed" its a good lore read. So vicente saying hjs strain is from morrowind, makes u wonder about the imperial strain, was vicente around in the time of morrowind, and did he bring the strain to cyrodill? Lord lovidicus(grey prince dad), count hassildor of skingrad and brotherhood of the virtuous orders secret vampire, the one who is playing 4D chess with imperial city residents lol. Could vicente be the reason for vampyrism in cyrodill???

Isn't this an Era after morrowind? He would be a little too young, it is the end of E3? And E4 begins when you stop mehruhnes. He would have to be like 700 years at the youngest and that probably still doesn't line up but that does make you ask. Who made him an imperial strain? Especially in morrowind????

Title of book= Immortal blood, and you can found the protagonist in Skyrim. (Sorry for this, english is not my language)

ALL elder scrolls games up until Oblivion take place in the same era, because even all the way back in arena, Uriel VII (which is the emperor who is assassinated in the beginning of oblivion) is the ruler of the empire. Morrowind only takes place less than ten years before the events of Oblivion. Morrowind is in 3E 427, and the events of Oblivion START in 3E 433. For context, arena takes place in 3E 389. So technically, ALL the events of the elder scrolls up until Oblivion take place in the span of ~44 years.

These videos make me want to play Oblivion again so bad, but I just did a full run of the game last year. I had such an amazing experience telling the story of my Nord named Kota Rossi that I'm afraid it's too soon to make a new character with new background and motivations and have it be anything more than trying to recapture the feeling from last time I played. So, I guess these videos will just have to tide me over until I'm ready to take the plunge again lol

I love the Oblivion sanctuary so much. Just a bunch of kooky murder friends. Skyrim tried to match it, but Astrid really ruined the whole thing. I would have cut her character and had Cicero as the Speaker. Maybe have Maven be the one to betray the Dark Brotherhood instead and finally make her killable.
