Melody has her dads hair and her mum’s curiosity (she made a similar mistake, trusting a sea witch).

If you’d seen Ariel’s Beginning, you’d know that Triton HATED humans because humans were directly blame for the death of his wife Athena - Ariel’s mother. He became very over protective of Ariel as not only was she his youngest daughter but was the mirror image of his wife. This cycle repeated In Return to the Sea, as Ariel was the same with Melody but for different reasons. Melody grew up feeling isolated and alone like how Ariel was a teenager having been drawn to the sea like Ariel was drawn to the land because she felt smothered and trapped.

Just like at The Little Mermaid 2023 Ariel broke the rules went to Eric's ship because that she had to do on her own about liking a human. - Eric is drowning at the bottom of the ocean.
@savannahhague4989 Жыл бұрын
I think the theory is a little off because Melody is only a little girl and anyone would have trouble fitting in with the crowd and it normally doesn’t come with hatred.

I think for the social interactions, it's social anxiety. As for the hair genetics. Eric's dark hair is dominant over Ariel's recessive red hair

I don't agree with the theory that Melody had a secret darkness in her. I think she's more like her rebellious mother than Ariel is going to want to admit, and said rebellious streak started before the events of the original movie. So if anything, Melody was reacting to growing up really sheltered and never having been told why. I don't agree with Ariel saying nothing to Melody about why she wasn't supposed to do things - kids actually do need to have a reason why even if it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to said kid

I am loving these Melody & The Little Mermaid 2 videos lately. Melody is a fantastic Disney character. When I think of Melody: I think of this young girl that I taught & was so excited to find out that my name was 'Melody' from The Little Mermaid 2. well, it is close; my name is Melanie. ❤🧜♀

I think that Melody was just a tempered-teenager in her movie because it's basically a backwards telling of her mother's story. Which I think is why it didn't make a very good sequel because it wasn't much of a continuation if you really think about it. Her mother wanted to go to the surface even though her father wouldn't allow it, and Melody wanted to go to the sea even though her parents wouldn't allow it. So, over all she could use more of a story with more of an adventure.
@vetarlittorf1807 Жыл бұрын
It's not really her mother's story in reverse, just a similar premise. Melody's story embodies the awkward transition to adolescence and is about her learning to accept herself. Whereas Ariel already accepted herself and she knew what she wanted for herself. Also, the sequel does feel like a continuation of Ariel's story as well because she has clearly become a mature, elegant and sophisticated woman rather than still being the giddy goofball she was in the original. She also undergoes an arc of her own where she learns to conquer her generational trauma and becomes a better mother by realizing that she can't completely protect Melody, all she can do is her best. Heck, Eric also feels like he's developed in the sequel as he's more outspoken, confident and even playful at times. The sequel is a bad movie though. It's very rushed, the animation quality is inconsistent, Tip and Dash were unnecessary, Morgana is just a discount Ursula and the songs are very amateurish. But the characters, especially Melody and Ariel, are handled well.

@@DeluxeDisney for me i like that's she exists in general. (being the ONLY daughter of a Disney princess) But for me (aesthetically) it's her black hair and thick eyebrows. And personality wise i like her struggles and her desire for acceptance.

Okay, we have to get something clear. Ursula is not Triton's sister. That was an idea that was scrapped. Also, Melody wasn't antisocial. She just has social anxiety disorder because she's a half-mermaid whose affinity for the ocean made her unable to fit in with her peers.
@slenderfan-101j.g.4 Жыл бұрын
This is just my opinion, but I really think that both Ursula and Morgana are Triton's 1st cousins rather than half-siblings. Neptune is their grandfather, aquaraina (Morgana and Ursula's mother) and Poseidon (Triton's father) are siblings. But then again this is just my opinion, Do you think this could make sense?
@vetarlittorf1807 Жыл бұрын
@@slenderfan-101j.g.4 No. Because they're not related at all. That's not a thing in any canon TLM media. In fact, the whole reason Morgana had to manipulate Melody is because the trident can only be taken from its resting place by members of Triton's bloodline.

Ariel trusted her evil Aunt Ursula and gave her a pair of legs so she can be with her true love cut ties with her family the same thing with her daughter Melody she wanted to be a mermaid and cut ties with her family because she was drawn to the sea like Ariel was drawn to the surface the reason for Melody's hair was after Ursula died and rescived black hair that was inherited from her father Prince Eric let me know your thoughts about this theory

I think Melody just wanted friend but because of here human pers she didn't feel like she belong And I feel for her because had problems with that to But after Melody became a Mermaid herself she like she belong finally But even when she made mistakes she was willing to risk her life to fix it Like Ariel Melody was strong I love this kid

how was this dubbed the best sequel of all time, I have been a HUGE fan of the little mermaid ever since i was a kid, but this sequel was'nt all that great Melody was such a cry baby and all that development for Ariel went out the window when this moviw came out. It honestly feels like disney ripped off their own movie.

@vetarlittorf1807 Жыл бұрын
Sorry, but that's just wrong. Yes, the movie has a similar premise as the first one, but it's not a complete rip-off. The first movie was a romance fantasy while the sequel is a coming-of-age story. And Ariel's development wasn't thrown out the window. She had legitimate reasons for being overprotective and the lesson she learns in the movie was that she can't do more than her best to protect Melody. And Melody was in no way a cry baby. She was just a confused adolescent desperately searching for acceptance and learns on her journey that she needs to accept herself first.

@@vetarlittorf1807 I respect your opinion, but everyone in the movie was such a cry baby Ariel didn't learn anything, the villian was weak the interactions were weird and Melody had such weak reasonings for running away. @vetarlittorf1807 Жыл бұрын
@@gabesuniverse5566 No. "Cry baby" is just a blanket statement. Saying Ariel didn't learn anything or that Melody had a weak reason to run away is just coping. And while the movie is not that good, it was not a failure as it is among the most successful Disney DTVs.
