❤ Flights are booked! Retirement at the end of August, a few weeks to decompress at home, take care of business and pack. Then that long flight to Gibraltar, a few days to recover from jetlag, and a train or two to my starting point. That final prep is so important! For the first time in decades, I'll not be on a timetable, so I'm not going to rush. A friend will join for the last 100km. Say Hi if you rush by the grey haired lady with the purple backpack. I can't think of a better way to transition into whatever life brings in the future... p.s. I coordinated pilgrimages for nearly 20 years, on top of my regular work... getting into a pilgrimage mindset is so important!

thank you Linda for this comment, more people can "subscribe" to a slow starting mindset, more people will try it on their own. We just did 55 days of french Camino and to be honest it seemed to fast! Congratulation for you transition to a second part of the life, we love your attitude! If we will pass the Lady with the purple backpack, surly we will stop for a chat and hug! 💚💚💚

So many great tips and advice from you guys, thanks so much for all the help and good vibes. But also, I would say that just like each person must live their own life, each person must do "their own camino." I don't think there is necessarily a wrong way to do the camino, there is only learning experiences. And I think that's one of the great things about the camino is, finding your OWN way. I say this because maybe there is a person out there preparing for their first camino, watching videos and reading guides, and maybe getting to feel too anxious and worry too much that they will do something wrong or miss something. So, my advice to first timers would be to, yes, prepare, but also, trust yourself and don't worry too much about how other people do their camino. The camino abides. Buen camino

Hi, greetings from Malaysia. I found out about the Camino Walk during our 4th pilgrimage in Lourdes in May 2023. Your KZbin channel has been very useful and enlightening. I am planning my first Camino Walk in May 2024 while my wife volunteer in Lourdes. Since I only have 10 days to spare, I am planning to do the 100 km Camino from Lugo to Santiago Compostela. My plan is to take several train rides from Lourdes to Lugo, about 15 hours and spend 2 nights in Lugo before I start my journey via O Burgo, Melide, O Pedrouzo to Santiago Compostela. If I am successful, I plan to bring my wife along during my second Camino in 2025 via Sarria which has more infrastructure for senior citizens. Will then do the Porto/Santiago Compostela Camino in 2026. If I am still capable, then I will do the Camino Norte during the 2027 Holy Year and I hope my eldest son can join me too. Just sharing my thoughts. Thanks.

Kia ora Ricky & Erica. Thank you, I love your enthusiasm, advice, and personal stories. My daughter and i will be walking the Camino Frances starting from SJPP mid May. From New Zealand we fly into Bordeaux for three days to shed the jetlag and adjust to the northern hemisphere - the whole north-south reversal of the sun is weird lol. I love watching your youtube channel and sent you a few coffees. Keep up the great work - ka pai to mahi. Arohanui Sarah

I am starting on August 30 on Frances, my first one. Lots to think about, will i find myself after decades of marriage? I'm walking right out of my front door, and I'll close that door behind me leaving an entire life behind. The first steps into the unknown of the future, whatever it brings. I'll hop on a bus from my town and continue walking in St Jean. No plans made, no bookings, just a month of lead time. A sudden decision to walk. Life is ahead of me! I did just book Beilari, taking your advice.

Hi Ricky! Hi Erica! Missed catching up with you on Camino 2022 in Spain, such a shame! One day perhaps? We start Camino Portuguese in September this year, so looking forward to it, we start in Lisbon, and I believe the accommodation is a bit sparse to start with, anyone else had that problem? Much love Andy & Debbie Hove UK

Is it possible to purchase your journal anywhere on Pamplona?
@caminotellers Жыл бұрын
HI! it's still not in libraries in Pamplona, but if you are on the Camino, you can order it on Amazon and get it delivered to the albegue where you will stay! We usually do like this (we call the albergue so they are aware that a package will arrive, so there are no problems). 🤗 Hope it helps

I signed up for your retreat next May 2024. I'm arriving in SJPDP on April 23th and planned to start on the 25th. I'll adjust my journey to allow me to attend your retreat. Much love to you both!❤ (let me know if there is anything I can bring or send to you to help out with things, also when I'm there I would love to cook for you and others or help with cleaning or anything!)
