The most funny thing that happened to me when I was playing Tear was I was playing against Runick Sprite, and I Maxx C'd them. I milled them with an Ishizu, they milled an Ishizu mas well and like "hell, yeah, let's go, free value". However, I realized I had just milled my entire deck. At this point, I'm like "meh, I'll just shuffle something back before my turn.". Then my opponent summoned a Sprite monster, and my duel field crumbled to dust because I forgot I had maxx c'd them and was forced to draw. xD

I love the timer As a tear noob, its tough but its so funny to just get wins from the timer Honestly I like tear as a deck. I just don't like all the things you can add to the deck. There are too many powerful GY effects in the game which just makes the deck toxic Only reason why GY decks sucked prior to tear in MD was because there were no decks which had the consistency to pull off what tear can. Tear should have had a lock somewhere which made it so that you can only special summon tearlaments and fusions after the activation of ___ or that have a restriction of "cards sent to the GY cannot activate their effects the turn they are sent except tearlament cards or cards which mention tearlament" I don't think the deck would have been toxic or been tier 0 if this was the case Its just a shame the deck isn't playable (in the future) as the cards will need to be banned The continuous trap negate is also a way too funny interaction. Why is the negate a lingering one? Its so dumb

You can't even use the GY as material There are no milling cards in Banded, closest thing we had was Branded opening + Tragedy. Not even real milling, they were searchers. GY decks were Ishizu chaos (which was a mishmash of various cards so I don't count it as "a deck" in terms of an archetypal playstyle) or lightsworn

Aluber has a graveyard effect, opening and tragedy like you said, Dramaturge, Ad libitum a ton of their fusions that exist to be dumped into the graveyard by Mirrorjade like Albion for example. If it wasn't a GY deck it wouldn't work soo well with tearlaments. Also no milling cards in branded? Branded fusion itself is a milling card Mirrorjade is used in the same way.

I also agreed with the idea of playing fewer millers, but on ladder there is simply so much Tear hate that I am starting to think a Tear player may be better to play max out on the Ishizu so that there is discard/special summon fodder for numerous reasons, like making xyz plays (which can enable you to maybe pass turn with Bagooska if you are under Shifter or maybe wipe the field with a Zeus play, or even into Tornado Dragon or potentially even Zoo stuff).

The thing is that because of the randomness of milling your lines branch a lot more than in other decks (i.e. Swordsoul; your decision branches are usually "what level 10 do I Synchro to", "how do I play around the opponent's Dimension Shifter/Imperm/Ash" and "can I summon 2 level 8s"). It's mostly for the mirror though, Tear just shits on practically all other decks if played semi-competently.

Kurikara puts work in fam, it’s cleared so many obstacles when it came to tear or any deck that wants to play on your turn 😊 easy small world bridge and you can steal/banish their only Kit if the shufflers aren’t active. 2/2 with one loss from me running out of time trying to deck them out at 3 cards left on a Maxx C💀

More card in hand = good. It baits out hand traps and called by/crossout. It pushes some decks into conservative plays so you have a much easier time board breaking. Maxx C does everything

@Red Ace tearlaments don't run called by, they just mudora, if u called by, ill mudora or take the hit and make the next fusion play work. Do you know why I know it's bad in tear? Coder even took it out on his twitter feed. Acknowledging it's bad for the mirror and bad vs the counters. More hand advantage means nothing when you have no clearers and no way to fuse them if ur opp takes the maxx c challenge. Normal tear players don't even use super poly so struggle to out adaman or d link boards. Look objectively at the deck and ask "what is he drawing into?"

Honestly my experience playing against and trying Tears (since I give every archetype thats considered broken a shot to see if the hate is justified or if its just bad luck/hate bandwagoning) Tearlaments are really only broken or toxic with Ishizu and Heralds. As the T0 status it had in TCG has proven, but tried Tears without Ishizu or Heralds and its surprisingly fun and balanced. Then again any graveyard deck is busted woth Ishizu. Tears only milling 3 compared to 7-15 cards balances out more, but as I've seen facing a Shaddoll/Ishizu and a Zombie/Ishizu... Ishizu are the real broken trouble makers in these decks. For context I ran a Tearlament/Buster Blader hybrid so that way I could attempt to get Destruction Sword cards/Dragon Monsters in the grave or profit with Tears graveyard effects. Really if Ishizu's didn't have the ability to bounce opponents graveyard it wouldn't be much of an issue since it would he a risky play.

I'm still happy I was able to make Tearlament completely F2P (screw Konami greed). It took 12000 Gems (was hording gift box) and 8 UR crafts (5 of which were paid for by dismantling the irrelevant URs of the other archetypes from the tear pack), but I pulled it off, and I even pulled royal rare Perlerino to boot.

I crafted 1 Rheinoheart, 1 Planet, 1 Scream, 1 or 2 Sheiren and a lot of the ED (didn't have Dweller, Redoer, Baroness) as well as 1 Diviner. I am playing on a fresh account though (started in December), I only run 1 Diviner and 2 Scream and I'm still out of gems and material right now. EDIT: I got 1 of those no-UR-10s but I also pulled a Royal Rare Gnomaterial so that was just a free craft.

I like this deck. But I already made the deck and still getting the cards for it. Does anytime have any good tips on how to use this deck efficiently?

It depends but here are some tips for the tear mirror that I've learned: the ishizu Millers should only be use as a last resort if you don't have any other plays or if you have dweller on the field. Always try to chain block your monster(s) on field effects to play around havnis (cause havnis can only respond to a "monster" effect that activates on the field; so you can chain block it with something like screams mill effect for example) Never trigger multiple tear names when your opponent has sufflers in grave ( you wanna trade one name per suffler if possible.) These are just some tips aside from the obvious make dweller if possible. Hope it helps

It's a complex deck, and especially the mirror is hard. My tip is to practice, practice, practice, and play cards for the mirror match, like DD Crow.

The only reason Adamancipator isn't better than this deck is because Block Dragon is at 1. They're better with the Ishizu cards thanks to the new Vernasylph lines, they make easier use of Snow and on top of having Block Dragon, and can Grass for nearly 40 against greedy mills. But once you banish the dragon things stop being fun, and they usually have no good way to recover it if it gets banished, Tearlaments can at least dump a Cryme to recover core cards hit by D.D. Crow, Winter Cherries or IDP. That little bit of resilience is what puts them over the edge.

Is there any reason to actually play 3 Scream? It doesn't do anything on its own, is hard opt and searchable.

I'd imagine it's for the consistency, those extra mills come in handy, especially vs the mirror. Plus it's a good chain blocker vs Ash, protecting your Kit search

@@dudeguy8686 Maybe it's just that I didn't like opening with Scream as much as searching it mid-combo. Scream and no Tear name in hand feels pretty bad whereas opening any Tear + Scream doesn't feel as strong.
