Ok I was not expecting a Flow review on this channel. Easily my favorite animated movie of the year, it's really deep in its simplicity and has this sense of absolute wonder and mystery that is often absent in movies for kids (and blockbusters in general) which spoonfeed the audience. The animal characters have so much personality despite not talking at all thanks to the accuracy of their gestures. The direction is also fantastic, so many beautiful long takes and shots that made me tear-eyed for their sheer emotional power.

As a latvian and cat parent i loved the Flow movie ❤️ loved that the animals actually moved and acted like real animals. Had a chance to hear a Q&A session from the director after the movie and that gave some nice extra details. For example - all animal sounds for the movie were recored by real animals 🙂 The capybara was a baby camel, and cat voice was recorded by one of the animators cats.
@tinapotapovica436512 күн бұрын
Fun fact: the characters are "voiced" by actual animals, and when it came to the capybara, the "voice" didn't really fit what the director had pictured the capybara to sound like, so they did a casting at the Riga zoo (capital of Latvia) and ended up using the voice of a baby camel :)

The fact you mentioned Stray sold me on this. I've played that game several times. My 6 year old son loves playing it, too (it's forces him to read, too, so it's hidden homework 😂). It's wild to think that obvious passion projects have shown time and again they can easily roll with the big dogs, yet are always ignored. Actually, better that way, so big corporations don't come in and ruin it. I love following you because you keep my privy to these things. Thanks brother! Might just watch this with my kiddo

Coming from a Latvian. I would’ve never expected someone outside of Latvia, let alone Europe, especially someone very popular, make a video about a movie from Latvia

Let's start renormalizing making movies with actual unique art styles

it already is normalized people like you just keep watching superhero garbage

@@prestonrussell1913Let us be nice okay. At the end of the day we would just like to see new fresh films. If there is a suggestion just say there is these films to check out. Since the whole premise is that it is limited in thought to one who only sees unorignal concepts. Choose to watch movies you like, is fun and relax into it. If people like me annoy you that is because we have filters. At the end of the day we decide to make things good or not. So just chill

My favourite animated films of the year are: - Flow - Look Back (weird how Amazon MGM doubted this so much they sold the theatrical rights to indie companies even when they coproduced it, and instead shoved Red One down everyone's throats; and this is from the creator of Chainsaw Man, one of the most popular shonen manga/anime recently) - The Colors Within (Kimi no Iro) (Naoko Yamada's latest film) - The Wild Robot - and probably Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl Runner-up would be DAN DA DAN: The First Encounter, but it probably doesn't count because it's just the first three episodes of the series compiled into a movie.

I just found out about nine sols on switch, and I am 100% with you that nine sols should be game of the year. I"m streaming it rn, and it's def one of my favorite favorite games probably ever created. takes the souls formula and just integrates it perfectly into a metroidvania type game. superb.

Your description reminds me of Disneys Fantasia movies. I loved those as a kid and have recently showed them to my own kids. The only dialogue is the introduction to the next music number. The music and the cartoons along within stuck with me forever.
