I have just swapped out my Asetek Invicta base for this VNM base, and I must say I am blown away by how good it is. The software is clunky, but once you figure out what all the settings do I find the force feedback to be simply incredible. I can get a stable, natural feeling setup that provides more feedback than the Invicta ever could, even if I turned almost all of the filters on the Invicta off which for that base results in a very twitchy feel. And all this is without using the telemetry feedback system, in ACC. I haven't even tested the telemetry stuff yet as I'm already consistently faster than I was with the Invicta wheelbase, approaching 101% times in ACC. Aditionally I find that the VNM base is much better at transmitting the different characteristics of different vehicles within the same sim. Combine that with noticeably less cogging than the Asetek base and the overall impression is simply amazing. All in all I am having so much fun with this base, it really is a big step up from the Invicta to me. As Will says, if this is just the starting point for the software, this is just going to get better and better.

You really experienced cogging with the Asetek base?
@texnorthman3 күн бұрын
@@jeremymartinez6024 Yeah, all wheelbases I've ever tried have had cogging to some degree. The Asetek Invicta was MUCH better than my older CSL DD 8Nm base, but you could still feel it while standing still in the sim, and you could feel it quite obviously while the base was off. On the VNM base I can baaaarely feel it when the base is off or sat in windows, and in game it is just not there, can't feel it at all. Not sure how they've done it but the base feels so incredibly smooth and natural it has blown me away. I've spent some time this evening testing the Telemetry mode too, and that could be a game changer! I dare say, it transforms ACC's force feedback into something that feels more like the old AC, but more stable 😯

I'd be curious how the telemetry system feels. I have a VRS DFP and I feel like everything you're saying is missing from the feeling in the wheel is exactly what I get from rF2/LMU. Braking, trail braking, and accelerating out of the corner is super detailed, including rumble strips and things like the bumpy road at Sebring. I also have a bass shaker under my seat and pedals, so maybe I'm combining all of that in my mind without realizing it since it's been over a year since I only had a wheel without bass shakers.

It is different sensation you are describing, LMU is amazing and this VNM runs it well without the telemetry ffb, as it not added yet for this game. Its just so much better with telemetry ffb in ACC though. Like he said in video "beyond anything he felt before" and he has played LMU

Thanks for yet another amazing review! One question, this latency that we see at, for e.g. 40:24, is that genuine or maybe some video compositing error? I wouldn't think its the latter, because I know you are generally super careful with such things, which brings me to conclusion this is actual lag. Then at 44:00 you remind us of them using UDP, which in theory could introduce some latency.. not connected, I hope? In any case, for you who are so meticulous with these things, not to call out such lag for me was strange, so I hope this is just an editing error. :) Cheers!

@@boostedmedia Strange I must have missed that. Ok thanks for clearing that up. btw There will still be a delay.
