Thailand donated that train to Cambodia. It seem to be that Cambodia don't have good maintenance system.

You are very brave to take the train. This train reminded my childhood back in the 60s before the war erupted. Most of my family members did not survive the brutal genocide there. My family was sent from Phnom Penh to Pursat province during Pol Pot and most of them died in the labor camps there. I saw the other part you went through Pursat province also. Only memory lives on. Enjoy your travels and stay safe from a genocide survivor!

Thank you for taking the time to share your story. I can't imagine what it was like to grow up through the genocide and witness what happened. I hope you have some kind of peace now. Getting that train is not even a fraction of what you went through. Wishing you the best!

It's quite sad to see the donated "State Railway of Thailand - RHN Diesel Rail Car Stock" train running in a very bumpy track with poor maintenance. It could've served the SRT North Eastern commuter lines on a well-maintained tracks where the train itself would potentially last longer. The car was just recently refurbished for the donation to Cambodia.

I love Cambodia, I lived there for nearly a year and can't wait to go back. Glad you like Vannda too, I don't understand most of what he says but its so good. Seen him live twice when I lived there.
8:46 did you see the "SRT" Logo? that is the "State Railway Thailand" and that train used to run in the Isan railroad in Thailand before moving to Cambodia. if i was wrong something let me know

I remember the train was owned by Thailand and donated to Cambodia. and pass through the Thai railway line smoothly If this train was still in our country, it would have been good for the maintenance of the Thai people. The Khmers had no way to maintain the train at all.

Well, Most railways track are not actually like in the 1890s, 1930s or 1940s. Some track are have been removed and was repaired. I believe the Government did have enough money just to repair a 100km track and I think the government just didn't have a budget to do it. But will see in the future whether Cambodia have a High speed rail way in 2025 I heard Cambodia have many Mega project this Year 2024 I believe the government now have enough money to build it now or just fund by a Chinese development.

Where are you going to get the money to build it? Borrowed from China, right? Thailand builds the Thai-Chinese high-speed train. Cambodia also came to ask for the island of Thailand.
