Hey Robert, it was a real pleasure to meet you in the KZbinr area backstage at Gear Fest. I got word that you had to leave early to go home for some issue, and thus didn’t partake in Cookie Fest. While that sucks, I’m sure you would have dug it, I hope everything is OK with the family. For what it’s worth, when I mentioned that you got your haircut, and your reply of, “It was an accident” was easily the funniest thing I heard that day, or a close 2nd to when you asked about the cookies “Cookies or like coooookies?”. It’s good to see that you are a really down to earth dude with a tremendous amount of talent, no doubt brought about through some very hard work over the years perfecting your craft. It is my sincere hope that one day in the future we cross paths again. Once again it was a real pleasure to meet you. Rock on my dude!

Love it! 57 and still learning. I’ve got to get myself a delay pedal.
@SeanDS892 жыл бұрын
That's what I love about guitar, there's always room for improvement :) also, I recently learned about a new pedal called "Space Delay" that sounds awesome to me (and it's not too pricey), if ur still in the market, u might wanna check it out Space Delay demo at 29:16 kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXi8mKKim7WjjJI&ab_channel=AndertonsMusicCo

Delay adds that "produced ambience". I'm 60 and bought a used Echoplex $400 when I was 16. My new Les Paul at the time was $675, so that Plex was a pretty penny, but I knew that i needed it. Instantly I sounded "pro", bands all wanted me. All my Rush sounded great, Ain't Talkin' Bout Love sounded great. I just sounded like the records... Folks on the internet bag on delay...do yourself the ultimate favor and get a nice delay. Something where you can roll the high end off the delays, even with a tape mode on it. Strymon Timeline is awesome, there are probably cheaper options out there now. Sounds like Robert could have delay and reverb, or more likely just reverb here. The modern reverbs are incredible too.

Nuno uses this kind of lick on Decadence Dance - in one of the verses, but uses hand tapping, just using a basic Em pentatonic shapes. Simple to pull off, and the chicks dig it!

I hear an Eric Johnson vibe in this lick. Awesome lesson/idea. God bless you and your family.

I like this concept, you just opened up my world. Many times I am focused on the act of picking each note, but this works so much better. I like to play fast, but accuracy usually suffers. This enables the speed and doesn’t sacrifice the accuracy. Awesome 🤘🏻

Just started on Paisley’s ‘Time Warp’ and that main riff destroyed any anchoring issues I had and my left hand has taken on a life of its own now. So freeing. And…learn some of this by ear to really feel the accents and picking/legato patterns.
