Several years ago a young woman at work suffered a still birth. All of us were in shock and felt so helpless in trying to comfort her. She and her husband made the decision to name the baby, hold and take a picture with their little boy and they had a proper funeral. She referred to her son as her oldest and first child. She subsequently did have two children. However, the subject of abortion came up one day and she stated her pro-choice views; even past the first trimester. I was stunned and, considering what she experienced, thought for sure that she would be pro life. For so many women, they are blindly loyal to a movement that is antithetical to their own actual life experiences. Mother's Day was this past Sunday and she posted a picture of herself when she was very pregnant with her first child. It was a homage to her son; I pray that she can come to realize that a real tribute would be to acknowledge all life.

Wow, so informative and eye-opening. My mom had an appointment to abort me in 1963. She was in a middle of divorcing my dad, when she found out she was 2 months pregnant. Abortion was illegal in Argentina, the day of her appointment, my grandma showed up unexpected it, and convinced her not to aborted me. She also offered her “ support”. I was born in 1964 and carry my grandma s name “Celia”. I am the only girl with 3 brothers.

As a little girl in the 70s I kept hearing the word abortion in the news. I asked my non-Christian mother what it meant (I wasn’t from a Christian home). She said it means to kill your baby. My heart, as a child, was broken. I am now a 57-year-old Christian and I don’t understand how adults and Christians don’t have a broken heart about abortion.

When I was about 14 and really like naive about stuff, my mother told me a story which even then it was not a straightforward told story and I do not remember anything about it, except 2 things: she cried ( my mother DID NOT cry) a little and said it was a little girl, I named her Teresita, she would have been your little sister and you would not be so lonely. And never ever again said anything, it was closed

Abortion affects entire families, my son's former long term girlfriend devastated ours by having an abortion, after first announcing her pregnancy and receiving positive joyous support and encouragement from him and us. Well into her twenties, provided for by her own wealthy family, somewhat directionless, already educated with no career to interrupt, she began to equivocate about 'having' the baby, or not, based on the inconvienience of giving up single ways to care for another, and interruption to her upcoming holiday travel plans. Her own mother's first response when told about the pregnancy was "you don't have to have it". I asked her "what if this baby is the best thing that ever happened to you?".We prayed and prayed for all of them, but she went ahead with it. My son was cast as a bad boyfriend as he could not bring himself to take her to a clinic to kill their child, she went with her sister, meanwhile he broke down in front of us. Afterward she assumed that the relationship would just happily continue, that he would literally take her out to dinner to cheer her up, of course it progressively imploded. Devastating all round, a blessed child denied the right to be born and live, a young woman told by her family and society that aborting your child is a casual option that will not reverberate into your future, grandparents, uncles and aunties grieving the child that was destroyed for considerations of inconveniance, which I think is much more typical than abortions sought because of medical problems or after sexual assault. The idea that the unborn babies father has no right to a say or even to an opinion regarding abortion makes me physically sick, what a vile violent thing for any woman to say about their relational co partners, and half the population.

Wow. To think after labelling your son a bad boyfriend and willfully killing his and her child, she felt she deserved to be cheered up... I would have asked her how many drugs she was on, because she must be out of her mind. It's infuriating. This story broke my heart. I'm sorry you and your family had to go through that painful experience, and may the little baby rest in the arms of Jesus.

@@herbreannapinder1122 Thanks. Men's grief at the loss of their unborn through abortion has been cruelly invalidated. The blessing in this sad story, however, was that my son subsequently accepted Jesus and was baptised. God has promised that he will continue the work he begins in us until the end. We will one day meet that dear child, as will the repentant women (and men) who chose/advocated abortion meet theirs, through the forgiveness of Christ. The unrepentant will eventually answer for what they have done to " these little ones".

As a woman who spent weeks in the hospital trying to keep myself pregnant to give my son the best chance for life outside the womb, the idea that people are so selfish as to kill their babies over being inconvenienced is so disgusting. I can empathize with women whose lives are at risk being pregnant. delivery, not abortion is the answering that situation, but aborting over it being inconvenient to your life is not a sufficient reason to kill your baby, and so selfish especially when there are other options for birth control and adoption exists.

I aborted my baby also when I was 19. I had no real idea of what it meant. During the several hours of education right before the abortion in an old large school in Kansas City, Kansas, I became more and more aware of what was about to happen. Lots of women and your girls waiting together in a big cold room with our gowns on. While on the table they put the rods into you to dilate the cervix. So painful and for the first time I realized this is my baby and I said this to the nurse who was very close to my face trying to comfort me. The pain didn't stop at all while I waited with lots of happy girls eating their crackers and drinking their juice. My pain made me roll back and forth in the bed and I had to stay there an hour instead of the 15 to 20 min. Turns out the operation tilted my uterus. Oh, I forgot to say the electricity went out in the middle of my abortion so they had to wait for back up. My sister drove me to my abortion. When we got in her car, I cried and cried for a long time. I will never forget that I killed my baby but I know I've been forgiven. I hope my baby will be placed in my arms by my angel at the second coming of Jesus. So evil is this world! I believe if I'd been given the education several days or weeks before the abortion, I would have kept my baby. ♡

One of the best arguments I heard from someone on the pro life side, was that it all boils down to 'desire'. When a woman who WANTS to have a baby finds out she is pregnant, everyone congratulations her, she is excited. Her friends, colleagues and relatives are over the moon and start buying clothes, gifts and imaging who this tiny new person will look like and be like. There is an entire life in anticipation. This new person is waited for and welcomed into the world. When a woman DOES NOT WANT that baby she is pregnant with. Oh, it's now just a 'lifeless blob', oh it's not a 'real person anyway', 'it's just a clump of cells'. What confers humanity onto an unborn fetus is simply whether the mother wants it or not. People would be rightly horrified if at a gender reveal/baby shower, a guest stated that the unborn baby is 'not a real person yet anyway'. Also, according to the progressive left' men now can get pregnant. So can men now have a say in reproductive rights?
@niram6707
@niram6707 2 жыл бұрын
I find the argument that 'it's just a clump of cells' infuriating and illogical. That clump of cells is a unique human in the early stages of human development, development that will continue throughout the pregnancy. Once born, that precious human will progress through further stages of human development - from newborn, to infant, to toddler, to childhood, to adolescence and finally to adulthood.

@@niram6707 I do as well. And when we think about it logically that actually opens the doors to things that defy scientific logic. Because if it's just a lump of cells and not a human then that means that two individuals of the same species don't create that same species which opens up some interesting doors. Plants are clumps of cells. Dolphins are clumps of cells. The thought process with this means that two dolphins can create a giraffe or two wolves can create a plant. I think our biggest fight with this is we have to make pro choice people realize that what women are aborting is a human and has been from day one. There's such cognitive dissonance with this and getting that light bulb moment is half the struggle I feel. Then we can go into the arguments of personhood and break those down from a logic standpoint, as was done in the video.

I’m a man with no children and all I see is a growing human that has his/her independent dna but dependent on another human for 9 months. Taking away women’s rights never ever enters my mind. I merely feel it necessary to protect those who cannot protect themselves.The younger the human going all the way back to conception the more vulnerable. Unfortunately, I got lambasted on Facebook for getting into debate over this issue several years back when Hollywood decided to criticize and demean the state of Alabama over changes to their abortion laws. I since left social media because of the toxicity. I really do feel that women such as this young lady will have to spearhead and lead this discussion and activism of this societal issue.

Years ago we wondered why our pastor never spoke/preached on abortion. Then one Sunday during his sermon, he mentioned this issue. He implied that from his thought on this subject that if you are born again in Christ Jesus the scales of deception are taken away from this horrific act on the unborn and the Truth comes through your mind, soul and spirit and are no longer deceived by Satan… until then.. it’s difficult to converse and change a person’s belief or stance on this. If women want to have sex in an irresponsible way, it is their own decision because God gave us free will. Still, it does not condone abortion. Women need to really submit themselves to God and realize that pregnancy is a blessing, created by God ideally for marriage. We need to go to the Bible for the answers, we need to continuously pursue God’s wisdom and surrender to it. Any other idea, any other opinion… I am sorry but, does not matter. Sadly, in this broken world, it all starts with broken families, raising up girls without a father figure who look forward to have their needs met by a guy through sex. That is not the answer, ultimately this can be changed through spreading the Word of God telling those girls, women that no matter what, they have a creator and if they choose to the Perfect Heavenly Father in God. This is a great video, with a topic that breaks my heart! Again, I cannot stress enough how much humanity needs to know that there is a reason we are alive and God has a purpose. Jesus payed the ultimate sacrifice at the cross. (John 19:30) Nobody gets to define us, not even ourselves, just God and His Word. Let’s spread this video and also the Word of God! Thanks Becket 🤍

I decided to open my heart and to listen, in good faith to those on the pro life side of this debate, something I had never done before; the case that is being made, the way it is being made, with love and concern for the women as well as the unborn, changed my heart. I want to thank all of you, Megan and Becket and all those who helped me understand the totality of this issue with love and grace because that is the only way to change hearts. Lila Rose and Abby Johnson, especially Abby Johnson who was someone I could relate to was monumental in that change. I will tell you the thing that shattered me, was seeing the images of the procedures. I had no idea, the level of development of the fetus and the details of those procedures, which I feel certain is the best kept secret in the abortion industry for a reason. Please, please keep putting that out, helping people understand these things is crucial. You are all absolutely right, that the narrative has been very purposefully orchestrated away from the words that indicate what is actually taking place. I hope you will do a follow up video about where things are within the country almost a year out from the overturning of Roe V Wade.

it's amazing how much of our worldview is rooted in our pridefulness and refusal to abandon our opinions and positions, even in the face of strong evidence to the contrary. It's good for us to hear the best possible case against our opinions. That way, not only does it build character, but it forces us to reexamine our assumptions and opens us up to possibly learning something we didn't know before. I tell people all the time, at the end of the day, if your worldview is the right one, it should have no trouble standing up to scrutiny and cross examination. It'll hold up under the pressure of questioning. But if it doesn't, then people need to have the epistemological humility and flexibility to accept that they were wrong, and adopt a better worldview. All too often, we see changing our minds on something as a sign of weakness, and thus we close the door to rational thinking, healthy debate and civil dialogue.

Just learned that Pacific Justice Institute filed Amicus Curiae (“Friend of the Court”) Brief with the Supreme Court in late 2021 in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case using principles contained in the 13th Amendment (such as: humans [fetuses] being treated as property, unable to speak for or defend themselves, having no power to control their own lives to the point of being killed without impunity by those “who own them” [mothers]…). I had never thought of abortion in those terms! There’s more, too. I encourage you to check it out and support this effort. Also, spread the word!

Ascribing value to people based of size or level of development is like ascribing value based on darkness or lightness of skin color. Why can't people see that? They are both placing value on a spectrum which is utter nonsense.

It is illegal to damage a golden or bald eagle egg. It is just a clump of cells and not human. Would this be a good defense in court? Eagles are not viable before they hatch, and are dependent. Eagle eggs are delicious and can be used in any recipe. Amazing that in this world, a person would go to prison for damaging or stealing eagle eggs, but could perform thousands of human abortions and be considered a hero.

Megan, thank you for your thoughtful, loving, and reasonable conversation. I also want to ask that you consider stop using the language that the proponents of abortion have injected into the conversation. It obfuscates and confused the reality of the actual situation. Specifically, please consider saying “pro life” and “pro death.” That may sound harsh because of the normalization of the obfuscating marketing effort employed for decades. However, it is factual. It does not vilify, it merely frames the conversation accurately. People either support killing unborn children, are against killing unborn children, or believe killing unborn children is justifiable in certain situations. Let’s not soften the reality of the evil because those who support it are offended by it being proclaimed candidly. Lastly, I want to really encourage and commend you Megan. The arguments were sound, all encompassing, and well delivered. May the Lord bless and protect you, you family, and you work.

I've heard the analogy about the violinist and I realize there are infinite number of meaningless comparisons. They want us to get distracted by a ridiculous idea. Instead we counter and I personally can't help it. So here is my counter argument... Imagine waking up in the hospital and you are attached to your best friend who needs you to save their life and need to be attached for 9 months. Imagine that you are attached to your mother-in-law. Imagine that every person on earth is at one time a patient in the hospital and in need of a life saving treatment involving nine months of inconveniencing another human. Oh wait! That already happens??? That makes the exact opposite argument and shows how selfish people are. We are all selfish. But can we compare apples to apples? What if the person who walked up in the hospital had just a year prior had the same experience only she was in need of like saving treatment?...

If sentience and preference defines personhood, then an unborn baby is a person. Research has shown that newborns prefer voices they heard in utero, even particular stories they were read in utero. Within hours of birth, babies recognize and prefer the scent of their own mother’s breasts over the breasts of other mothers.

I can NOT stand the idea of " viability"! That is such a subjective word. The meaning keeps changing. Viability went from 28 weeks to 24 weeks, it keeps moving but true viability is the moment of conception because although the child can't live outside the womb even with medical assistants, the child is alive and growing and is as human as you or I.

The violinist argument is just so unbelievable to me considering the fact that the one who "woke up one day" tethered to another person without their consent to be there is THE UNBORN CHILD. 😭 this world is sickening.

Becket, that was a wonderful show. Thank you for talking about this. Thank you for everything you are doing to stand for what is right and good. You are a blessing to this world. I would add a thought…. I agree that men should be able to be a part of the conversation, especially if they are the father of the baby. And if men should have a voice and a say in this matter, they should also take big responsibility in the life of every child that they help to bring into the world. If every man who impregnates a woman, would have to pay for 50% of the care of every one of their children, at least until they turn 18 years of age, I think there would be fewer “unplanned” pregnancies. I think that would take care of a huge part of the problem. I don’t hear people talking about men taking responsibility for the care of these children. It’s all up to the woman to protect herself, then if she gets pregnant, to keep the baby or not, then how to care for and raise that child. Men should be part of the process from beginning to end. But then I would be worried that the bad men would encourage or cause abortions, to get out of the responsibility. It’s so hard. We adopted our daughter from this exact situation. The father wanted the mother to have an abortion. She chose not to, so thus was totally on her own, because he didn’t support her letting the child live. She chose to give her baby up for adoption for many unselfish reasons. We are eternally grateful that she chose to let her baby live. 🙏🏼

Demanding equal rights to abandon their children, while still in the womb, is no different than women imitating men who abandon their partners and children. Imitation is the highest for Of flattery. Thus, women want to imitate men who abandon women and their children. They want to imitate men who do not respect their partners or themselves.

The best part: The world is trying to telling us that we matter by what we do, or what we look like. We exhaust ourselves to measure up. But we have intrinsic value beyond these. The gospel tells us this. The minute we walk in this truth of intrinsic value the world can’t put labels on us or put us in boxes. Amen.
