11:30 Been awhile since I saw this, but to answer where Carol got the pills, they were actually Doris' pills. Jessica noticed them when she met with Doris in the office, and later Elliott took them and grabbed Carol to drug her with them to stage her committing suicide. Jessica and co. arrived in time to save her life. I actually love this bonkers episode. Definitely feels like a sweeps episode though.

Elliot's confession makes the whole thing weirder. We are told early on that his wife, Doris' mother, is deceased, and that Doris is his daughter and that she has reason to resent Carol. But Elliot has spent most of the episode acting like he likes Carol better than Doris. And he was kind of coming on to Jessica early on - and you might think a guy who liked Jessica Fletcher would cooperate with her against a murderer. (Since that was before any crime happened, it doesn't seem like it had ulterior motives, i.e., like it was a ploy to distract Jessica - unless he knew that early on what Doris was planning?)

Two episodes I'd love to see you cover are in season 1, and they are back to back. 1) Lovers and Other Killers, with the creepiest murder suspect Jessica defends. The closing shot of the episode has always disturbed me. It has been a thorn in my brain for decades. 2) Hit, Run and Homicide with the driverless car.

"J'accuse!" ...Your posts got me into following "Murder, She Wrote" reruns on CoziTv, who run 2 episodes a day and this past week it's been a marathon in honoring Lansbury...This "Menace, Anyone?" episode just played on Cozi, and I watched for my youthful crush on Hamilton since first seeing her in the first 2 "Terminator" movies...Love your other posts on other series as well. The humor! Lotta work put into them, to make them Smooth. You are ridiculously funny. Thank you so much!

It's always weird to me whenever a mystery/procedural show does a riff on Psycho that they seem to expect their audience to not already be extremely aware of Psycho. At the very least one of the characters should go "look we've all seen Psycho right? It's like that"

I love this series! It made me want to start watching the show. I wonder though...maybe the actress left the episode and they didn’t have time to recast so they did some weird work arounds to get the episode out the door? I have to agree with others though. It sounds like a big sweeps episode with lots of promotion. People were there for Linda Hamilton and they wanted to show her off as much as possible? *eh* What do I know? Lol

Fantastic as always. Glad to see you're still making these. One I might suggest you look at is the one where we actually follow a former student of Jessica's, Maggie, who is the writer behind a successful cop show called Beat Cop and hates it, but none of her other ideas are getting picked up. Then a studio exec threatens to stop the show even though its the studio's most popular one and ends up getting murdered for it.

I remember that episode, it comes after the Flight of the Dixie Damsel, which is another great episode, and one of several episodes with David Birney, the real life abusive ex-husband of Meredith Baxter, who played the mother on Family Ties. It also has Melody Anderson, who played Dale in Flash Gordon (1980).

While some episodes would have the lead investigator skeptical about Jessica at first, there were many cops who seemed to see her as a criminology expert to be learned from.

Thank you for yet another MSW epp. I love hearing you speak of murder she wrote with such fondness. It was my favourite show in primary school - and I still love them all more than words! I liked this epp - so many twists and turns, unusual story line. As long as the characters are introduced in a show at some point they are fair pickings to be the murderer as far as im concerned. Definately didnt see the detective turning up dead comming. The ability to change ur name etc is always a good one, harder to do in this day and age with web searches etc, its a classic are people who they say they are (agatha christie does it quite a bit), that whole Idea always gets my brain cogs turning at the possibilities. I like that they used that concept in a different way - was linda reynolds character crazy, was someone impersonating the sister, was it a frame job, then bam she is acutally alive but no one else knows except the main character....thats new 🤯. Thanks for the upload 😁
