The house was already large and look even more spacious after the Makeover. Beautiful interior design.

I love this! I love how happy the couple are, the designers have filled the brief they were given and then some. There is so much character and style within the house now. Lovely!

I'm happy to see a positive comment. So tired of angry, jealous, plain ugly people turning things into something they justify as their own. If you can't say something nice.....

The house looks great, but I do not think the kitchen is nearly big enough for the kind of cooking she does and where is all the storage?

They probably should have kept a pantry, just moved the door to it.

The home is so lovely. However, compared to so many other renovations, I just could not get to 180k. Glad the client was happy. There's is the only voice that matters.

@Ellen Morris I thought they delivered a very welcoming and harmonious reno, and showed respect for the style of the original house. If you factor in the costs of the roof restoration, the long porch, the structural changes - with two storage rooms opened up, and alot of doors removed and reconfigured. Stripping out the ceiling panels, reworking the fireplace, the major kitchen rebuild, plumbing, electrical. Even the purchase of goats and fencing them off. Plus Hazel's shop space. I can see all that work adding up to $180k. They looked like quality fittings and furnishings were used. Alot of thought and imagination went into this project (wall painting from the local artist).

Why would anyone want a bathroom which has a door directly onto the dining room? Huge no. Should have reconfigured to keep it off the hallway. Turn the laundry into the bathroom for more space. Remove door from dining to hall. Make the under the stairs bathroom a coat closet for guests. Other than that, this reno looks like a kitchen makeover, raise the ground floor ceilings and paint everything grey. A little bit of work outside. Cannot see how this adds up to 180k. Are goats expensive?

I just think they need more cabinets in the kitchen.

why didn't they make the kitchen bigger? rounded it with cabinets instead of that table? they have a diningroom. this was 6 cabinets no space at all.

“It was a room that didn’t know what it wanted to be.” Does it now? Because I wouldn’t stick a sofa in my dining room. Then there’s those wicker basket light fixtures again in the kitchen. That is such a bad trend-have fun dusting them. And what is with the dark grey in the den? I’d feel claustrophobic in that room. And all of that for $180k?! Yikes! Other than that mean little bathroom under the stairs I’d rather live in the before house. 😬

Why so many negative comments? If you don't like it, it really doesn't matter. It wasn't done for you. When your time comes and you get to redo your home, then you get to complain. Too many negative nancys, no wonder people shoot each other.

The kitchen is disappointing I must say… for $ 150.000-$180.000 Reno-budget, the whole renovation looks overpriced to me.

a guest bathroom right off a dining room..bad bad choice and the space under the stairs was perfect and now just closed off and wasted. very little was actually done and definitely not worth 180

That house was a filthy disgrace before hand, but I didn't like anything they did to it. What they did in the hall was terrible, destroyed the look and feel of the old property, and made the loo beside the dining room table, awful.

The homeowner didn't like anything about the fireplace: she stressed it several times. But the designer loved it So to heck with the owner. He painted it an ugly grey and for the final walkthrough the homeowners had to act pleased. I actually didn't like much of anything they did, from the fireplace to the kitchen, from tearing out the daughters playhouse she and her dad made to the goats they were considering buying. Nowhere do I see $180,000 spent. Thumbs down. Next time maybe the designer should listen to the homeowners instead of doing what he himself wants.
