ATMOSPHERE is key, as long as they lock that down I'll be satisfied. Gameplay and graphics was never the draw for me to the franchise, it was the atmosphere, lore and mystery that made me invest hours into the franchise and endlessly digging into the rabbit holes of its lore.
@ReagzPlays10 ай бұрын
RIGHT! The atmosphere is so important. I'm not super big on them making it play like the RE remakes, but eh, it isn't the end of the world. As long as the atmosphere and sounds and music are there... I think it'll still be very enjoyable for people to play.

This just popped up on my feed, and this is a great video :). Don’t know if you remember me from JTV, (you trained me and they always put “hair” on my PA show list). Past couple of years I’ve gotten into the SH series as well. SH2 was my first true horror game that I ever played and it shook me to my core lol. Konami does worry me with their handling of the series, but my main hope is that they nail the atmosphere. Music and sound design is what I’m hoping they nail. Fingers crossed 😅

YES! Kyle- I absolutely remember you. Thank you for commenting! I hope you're well. *also fingers crossed for a good remake* ;D

I’ve been a part of the fandom since day one. I still own my SH1 copy from the ps1 days. Became a prominent member of the old SHforums, I still am. Worked closely with some of the developers on two SH games. Silent Hill has never been a survival horror series, so making SH2 look like a survivor horror game like RE is a bad choice. Even worse choice to make the game look too “clean” while the original was grimy and had a film grain filter on it. This remake was finished development almost a year ago so the game shouldn’t have looked like it was still old dev footage in this trailer. As much as I wasn’t personally a fan of the Shadow of the Colossus Remake, Bluepoint Games was respectful enough to not change any of the gameplay when they remade it. However, BlooperTeam has never made a good game and felt they needed to uproot all the aspects that made the original game so influential in the genre. I spent the past few years being talked over and down to by the new fans as they called me a fake fan, dismiss my thoughts on things and claim I’ve never played them. That I “probably only watched a video essay on the games” I can say with confidence that not a single long time fan I spoke to wanted a remake. We wanted new games. (All of Which have been disappointing so far) The Newer fans, that came in from other games like Dead by Daylight, have gaslit the community into thinking fans wanted a remake because the old games are bad and outdated. I wish I was joking.

(Sorry for potential Typos, I'm no native speaker) Yes it's very sad that Fans which spent almost their entire Life with SH Games, and are not ok with this Remake, are portraied as Haters or Trolls or whatever. The avarage Joe Gamer sees this Trailer and thinks: "This is looking fine, don't know what these "Fake Fans" don't like about it. I've got it! Let's Tell them how wrong they are and to shut up and portray them as whiny spoiled Crybabys. Cause we are true Silent Hill Fans after all, after playing it one time and watching a couple of KZbin Videos!" Guess that's the modern audiences which bloober talked about in that one Interview This whole Remake Controversy wouldn't be half as bad, if we had the Possibility to play the Original 1-4 on modern Hardware with good Ports. But as long as that's not the Case we have the right to complain about Stuff in the Remake that's so off of the Original. And there is a Lot!

I think as long as they keep the number of enemies limited and combat as barebones as possible, this game has a great chance to convey the same feelings the original did in a more modern way. Great video btw!

Aw, thank you! Really appreciate it. I agree it has potential, but I absolutely see what long-time fans are saying and how it might be a total failure. Only time will tell. I just hope it's better than we expect!

If you look at the bricks, i think they're flat textures. If true, then it lines up with the rumors of being an old build from last May. Because Textures being able to enable depth and such wasnt introduced until unreal 5.1 or 5.2 or so

My expectations about this game is low honestly but i I'm glad Akira yamaoka return to do a new version of his songs he always was a huge part of silent hill experience with the spooky atmosphere he created around the games even in western silent hills those games were not that good at least to me but I enjoyed either way because Akira's soundtrack.till nowadays i still listen to.

This is the biggest problem... This is not SilentHill This is Resident Evil James is not normal human here anymore He is Leon with full combat Skill Ofcurse enemies dont react to attacks... I think the best part of this trailer is in development part because we dont want this kind of SILENTHILL
@1theprince110 ай бұрын
This is the result of 4 years in development btw. The original devs stated clearly in interviews that James isn't supposed to be an action hero or some war veteran, showcasing combat and a clear focus on it is the most tone deaf "missing the point" thing they could've done especially in hindsight of the original game being a thing. Lot of issues as well when it comes to technicality, sure most people aren't game designers but that doesn't mean we don't care about the tech and we don't know how some of it work and should work. Couple of examples: James' hands aren't aligned properly when he swings, there's visible model clipping issues and it's noticeable since the camera is close. The sound of the pistol isn't good, the decals blowing off the nurses look low quality, the blood when he stomps is badly lit, there isn't even a reaction from the corpse, Nurses movements are too human-like.... etc. There's also concern surrounding the disturbing contents of the original, and whether or not that'll get toned down or straight up removed, we have yet to see any disturbing imagery that SH in general is known for and to me, that's highly concerning. This is the first time Bloober team, an indie double A studio is making a survival horror game and it just so happens to be the remake one of the most beloved horror game of all time. They should feel the pressure to deliver greatness... or at least a well put together, up to standards game.

I really like the idea of remaking games, it doesn’t erase my previous experience with the originals, and if it’s good in the end then it’s a win-win 😂 Are you playing persona 3 reload? What’s your take on that? I’m a fan of the p3, and reload does a great job!!
@ReagzPlays10 ай бұрын
Oooh. I bought Persona 3 Reload and haven't had a chance to dive into it just yet. BUT - Oh man, it does look amazing and seems (from what I've seen on Twitch) like it keeps to the original game pretty well. I can't wait to play it

It's all a little touchy to me. I dont really know if Bloober is the best choice, but who knows who's doing what. Im glad Akira Yamaoka is returning for this. But overall, I think combat is going to be the least thing I care about, because it was never really great in any SH game. I will judge them when it comes to sound design and how they mess with the player. I think orighnal SH 2 did some truly groundbreaking stuff. I dont want a remake if it's not trying to match the quality. We shall see!

I think this game is going to be great. Better than the original? Nah, no way, they would have had to bring the original members of team silent back to accomplish that. I think it’ll be good though.

We never wanted a remake, so sick of these remakes trying to cash in on original content. I won't be getting this game.

I do agree with that. While I love some of the remakes being made, I think it's too much and some deserve to be kept sacred and retro.

Well on the other side of the medal i would never play silent hill 2 without a remake so i get why fans might not want a remake that isn't 100% like the og but for me it's the only way i would ever consider playing it Now it just depends if it's good or bad basically
@derekb497710 ай бұрын
@@ReagzPlays thanks I think this obsession with remakes is bad for games it's not like a movie where you can watch it with games many won't play retro games because remakes will replace them, it's like theft to me why don't these new developments make their own franchises no one can come up with anything original.
