"Bayan Ko" (the "2nd national anthem") and "O Bayan Ko" (performed by SB19) are two different songs. But you are correct, the actual national anthem (the marching sound section) is incorporated in the end part of O Bayan Ko. Crazy how a Pop group can be this versatile by the way. From upbeat bangers like Gento and Crimzone, to ballads, and to this? Insane talent.

Just to add, our boys SB19 were accompanied by a hundred voices from 3 acclaimed chorale organizations - Los Cantantes, Kammerchor, and The Philippine Meistersingers. A very heartfelt performance! 🇵🇭🫶

They usually joke that one of the reasons why Filipinos have good singing skills is because when we were studying, we were required to sing the national anthem, city hymn etc. during the flag ceremony every morning and it is so hard to sing 😂

Yes indeed.singing it everyday and even in public schools or in any public offices it is also done where all v ehicles passing by a school while singing the Philippine national.anthem in the school grounds ,they would be required to halt or stop as a respect to the flag and being a Fiipino..

Acoording to Philippine historian, Xiao Chua "They did not sing the National Anthem with Bayan Ko, but this is the last part of an entirely different song by National Artist Ryan Cayabyab entitled “O Bayan Ko” (not “Bayan Ko” ) which ends with lyrics that will eventually mix with the Lupang Hinirang. It was sung as a concert piece and not as a National Anthem in the beginning of the program. This song was composed during the Centennial of Philippine Independence and resurfaces in times of great stress like the COVID 19 pandemic

SB19 perfectly fits to be as Youth Ambassadors of the Philippines and Sentro Rizal Ambassadors. They're character that shows resilience throughout time and their talent that is totally world class, their international achievements in music which mostly were Philippine's first time to have and they don't even brag about that, surely if more filipinos would give them a chance , Philippines can surely penetrate and might actually become the mainstream in the global stage.

Yeah, I understand how you feel. SB19 delivered this song with heart. Half of the song has a our National Anthem , that's the time the people stand with right hand on the left chest. Pablo's voice gives as all goosebumps. The love SB19 pours for our country is magnificent ❤

The original lyrics of the Philippine National Anthem went like this: Tierra adorada, hija del sol de Oriente, su fuego ardiente en ti latiendo esta. Tierra de amores, del heroismo cuna, los invasores no te hollaran jamas. En tu azul cielo, en tus auras, en tus montes y en tu mar esplende y late el poema de tu amada libertad. The title of the national anthem of the Philippines is Lupang Hinirang. This was a mash up of O bayan ko which was a composition of Maestro Ryan Cayabyab and the national anthem.As you may have noticed there was a part that sounded like a march...it started with "Bayang magiliiw" which is often mistaken as the title of the song. Waleska was right when she said " i think this is it".

Honestly, it's just my first time hearing that song because of SB19 and hearing the original, I can say SB19 really has that power to modernized the vibe of the song without removing the essence of the song, the meaning is being highlighted as great as the original. The only difference is like the style in a specific era so I'm thinking, what would happen if SB19 do covers of old beautiful songs, bring them back to life. Imagine if we had O Bayan Ko in the 90's 😂. For flag raising: Doxology or say a prayer Lupang Hinirang - national anthem Bayan ko ( usually) or other patriotic national song City anthem School anthem then for exercise we danced ( and sing if we want)to some song medley a combination of dance genres.😂 Then for flag retreat we sing the national anthem and school hymn again 5 times a week😂😂. This may be one reason why most Filipinos can carry a tune even if we're not the best singer..we could sing one or 2 lines correctly.

Everytime I hear people singing the LUPANG HINIRANG (our Natjonal Anthem) with all their hearts, it is so endearing and it gives me goosebumps. Our national anthem is the most heartfelt national song I am singing in my entire life. Please react on the history of LUPANG HINIRANG.
