It's a different style, but I recommend to you the Dishwasher games. The first one isn't really accessible anymore if you don't have an Xbox 360, but the second game has been ported to PC. Those games are basically 2D Beat Em Up + DMC with weapon switch combos and cancels.

Played through arcade mode with one of my buddies today, and its clear the team who made this was writing a genuine love letter to 90s beat 'em up games. The levels and soundtracks have some really deep cuts from other games besides TMNT like several big pieces from the X-Men side-scroller. Well worth the money, and I think they did a great job with this one.

TMNT have a poor track record when it comes to quality games. TURTLES IN TIME is over 30 years old, so that should tell you how long it's been since we had a solid TMNT video game.

Of course if you're a gen zer and missed those games not sure you'd feel the same but I grew up in the 80s and 90s so they have a lot of meaningful memories for me.

@@MKF30 Actually, you're sorely incorrect. KONAMI made ALOT of TMNT games. Not only did they have the rights to develop the early TMNT games from the 80s and 90s on various platforms, but they developed a bunch of mediocre TMNT games during the early to mid 2000s based on the 2003 series.

As a Turtles fan, this is going to be such a highlight for 2022 until the Cowabunga Collection is released. The classic series was way after my time (grew up with the 2003 series), but this looks too good to pass up. The beat ‘em up style looks addicting as hell. Reminds of that beautiful night in 2008 when I was a kid and I went over to my friend’s house for his birthday. His dad had a fairly good job, and the entertainment room had a projector, a pinball machine, and a couple arcade games. One of them had a bunch of beat-em-ups on the machine, and one of those was Turtles in Time. And as a young seven year old fully engrossed with TMNT at the time, I fell in love with that game. Fast forward 14 years and this game is coming out. God, I can’t wait to play this.

I love the health and revive mechanics for teammates, it makes it feel like a true teamwork game than six players just mindlessly attacking on their own

You can style tf out of this game. Mikey can chain ridiculous combos with his dash into popup to dive kick to super. Casey can do it to, but the timing is trickier. Edit:Also plays great on a fight stick.
