Great news: As of Early Access Patch 1 keybindings are in! Big performance changes too. EDIT: Early Access Patch 2 resolved even more frustrations. You can respec at the Cerim Crucible. Weapons can be equipped regardless of attribute requirements. See my thoughts for more on the Patch 2 changes: Overall very happy to see (almost) everything I was concerned about addressed within a month of the early access launch!

Yes & No - Keybindings are in (finally!) - but they remain restricted by choice relative to the scheme sets (3 to choose). Rather than provide presets - Moon should just allow a primary and a secondary to simplify and streamline the controls.

The fact that this gem has mixed reviews on steam is kind of heart-breaking. Genpop omega anpparently doesn’t understand what EA means. “Game doesn’t have enough content. Negative review.” “Game doesn’t run at a constant 60fps on my $500 pc. Negative review.” “Some game systems need tweaking and balancing. Negative review.” “EA game is acting like an EA….” 🙄

Most of the negative reviews came from day 2, before the early hotfixes. At this point the game is sitting at 77% (Mostly Positive) and rising. I've seen some nonsense, but I do think some of the reviews are fair, especially in regards to day 1/2 performance and a lack of keybinding options. Hopefully people give the game another shot after a few patches, the balance is already fixed imo, and I'm sure performance / keybindings will be fixed soon too. The game isn't perfect but it's off to an incredible start and given the history of Moon Studios I expect most of the issues to be resolved in the near future.

Since the game admits it is better played with a controller, it deserves neg until it gets ps5 dual sense support proper. The game really suffers from lack of key bindings. And the combat is just too hard for some like myself at 63 yrs of age and slowing of response, you really need to be nimble to beat the boss. I still have not beaten the first boss. It’s a game for younger gamers, not casual freindly.

​@@samnickerson9255for me it became a lot easier, when I started to understand the bosses patterns For example, if you are far away, he will run at you and swing from above his head, which is pretty easy to parry once you get a feel for the timing, since it is telegraphed pretty well imo I managed to just beat him with the focus from the party +1 hit and fireball with a staff, when I wasn't too good at the fight. But I agree that before I knew what to watch for, I couldn't parry at all, as the attacks itself are pretty fast Also figuring out how many attacks before you have to get away was pretty huge.

I recommend using a shield, you can block a lot of attacks from bosses (mostly) protecting your health. With a good shield you gain health from blocking normal enemy attacks. I plan to make a beginner friendly build video soon.

It doesnt run well at all on the steam deck or legion GO, which is how most of my friends are trying to play it.

Hi, correct me if I’m wrong. The risen are the local population that have take up arms to defend the island for outsiders. The monsters/plague victims are the called the torn. During the cut scene the holy figure gives his daughter back as a prisoner and the man at arms calls her “risen”

My understanding is the following; The Risen have multiple factions within them, they're a mix of those who want to defend the island and fight the crown (formerly under Odessa), and common bandits (under Falstead). The monsters / Plague victims go by a couple names, but the more powerful ones are "Torn."

I'm getting wasted over and over by the first boss which is super annoying as can't get into first city (won't care as much after that) any tips? (other than get good) ok now see you do have a vid on that boss :D

I dont really know i was around lvl 5 as i arrived at the first boss, i died one time, then his movement and attacks was really easy to avoid that i barely gotten hit. if u have a mid roll it should be fine, fat rolls are the worst.

Pick a strong one handed weapon: Nailed club or cleric mace works well. They have strong single hit damage but don't consume as much stamina as two handers. Try to also equip a shield. Just dodge while the thing swings and then one attack and back off. It'll die. Most of its attacks are heavily telegraphed. Your primary concern is paying attention to how many swings before the attack combo ends. It has one combo with 4 attacks and two combos with 2 attacks. Once you can see which combo is coming your way, its just a matter of dodge, dodge, hit. Once you feel sure of yourself, you ideally want to dodge into the boss on its final attack hit so you're in position to attack right after its dodge ends.

I staggered most of his attacks. This gives you more time to attack him. You just have to get your timing right.

Parry a lot... he's easily staggered by such... and dodge a lot also. I died a lot til I learned this and afterwards it was a cakewalk 😊

Yes, unless you're the type of player who creates one character and rushes to the end of the game and that's it. You may only get 10 hours that way. If you're the type to figure things out yourself, explore, gather, craft, try multiple builds, then it's definitely worth it.

Absolutely. It’s incredibly fun, atmospheric, and beautiful. Just understand, it’s early access. There’s no multiplayer right now, the story isn’t done, and major game systems are still being tweaked and finalized. There will probably be character wipes. If you want to be part of its development, jump on board. If not, wait a while.

It's a great game right now but I suck at it (can't get past the first boss) if can parry seems you can beat it. It's difficult anyway and there's no easy mode. If you like a challenge it's a great game.

I tried talking to her after completing a few runs but she just gave me the same dialogue as before. Is this a bug, or did I need to kill the Echo Knight to get more lore/story?

such a great game, if only it had diablo level content, all this game needs is content and I could lose myself for hours, needs some tweaks to build and loot, but it is a such a great set piece game . All my love and thanks to the devs

Good thing this game is in early access which means they are adding more content before it is fully released and on all planned consoles.
