And most importantly, an era where fighting games didn't have content cut out from the base games to make it into DLC and season passes.

So I only own the PS2 version of this, and I used a 3rd party PS2 to HDMI solution when I recorded, unfortunately, it stretched the screen as you can see. It kinda does that on it's own. I think next time I play CvsSNK2 (maybe I should go for Shin Akuma or God Rugal) I'll also figure out another way to record it, and try to get the game looking better too!

@@3ambreakbeats977 no, it's the third one, produced 2003 it's the third game in the capcom and snk deal. Capcom made the first two then it was snk's turn. They took it from the capcom style and made it more like kof. It's not a port of an old game nor an update just a very odd entry. It did release in arcades and ps2 and xbox but the ps2 version did not see a us release.

I can tell you with a 100 percent certainty that There will never be another Capcom and SNK collaborations, this might sound weird, but I'm sure the folks at SNK have noticed this, every time They did some kind of collaboration, it ended in some horrible catastrophy for SNK, they first begun in 1999 SNK Vs. Capcom The Match of the Millennium, SNK then got so bad financially it was close to getting bankrupt, they made another game in 2000 the first Capcom Vs. SNK, at that year SNK literally went bankrupt, and another game in 2001, the KOF of that year KOF 2001 was supposed to be big time if you take the story into consideration, but the company was still in a bad shape they had to let another company Eo-Lith interfere into the production of the game, KOF 2001, cool game, but it's considired one of the worst KOF's , in 2003 their final collaboration, SNK Vs. Capcom Chaos, because of it KOF 2003 was delayed until December and in some regions until 2004, and in 2004 itself, the NeoGeo system was discontinued, I don't know what the hell is going on, but it seems SNK has some kind of curse when it comes to dealing with Capcom, but at least I got a remake of Jill Valentine in her classic outfit

This game is incredible. It was an improvement from it's predecessor which had a ton of balance issues and bugs. Added more fanservice by adding new characters, improved AI, different grooves, selectable ratio levels than the set levels from the first game and more character interactions. And it made the game near perfect. Still play it to this day competitively. And would want it to have a resurgance like MvC2. Geese actually had a predictable pattern in CvS1. And can be abused by Blanka (Bison and Honda can also do this I think. But I cant recall if it's safer since their charge attacks have a wider hitbox than Blanka's). Have Blanka keep doing the HP rolling attack and Geese will keep doing a jumping reppuken. While he's in air, Blanka would have recovered and could do a jumping attack. You could repeat this over and over. Could be one of my first QA moments while playing games. (Oh wait, I did discover a spawn pattern/ safe spot for the last boss in sunset riders before) It's one of the AI improvements that they worked on for the sequel.

I remember Capcom vs SNK 2 having Rugal as alternate final boss for its arcane mode, never could figure out his requirements thought. Some time I'd get a chance to fight, most of the time it was Geese though. He did have one of the Coolest Super moves once you get him, he literally slide across the ground to grab your opponent and give a 15 hit beatdown on them. Bonus point for it having him actually going under most projectile move (except for the power wave and ripukken or however geese's air wave move is spell), people really hate me using him just because of that one move.

Minor correction: Only P-Groove has Parries. S-Groove's "parry" is a dodge like KoF dodge, where you just become intangible for a few frames, and and K-Groove's "Parry" is the Just Defend. Also, parries in this game aren't very good, lacking many of the things that it made it great in 3S.

Playing enough of them will hopefully reach out to Capcom's Fighting Game Division or someone who has connections to Capcom's Fighting Game Division and make them realize how much value and fun these games were back then. Graeme Williams I definitely know Capcom will always be there. I was commenting on Capcom’s fighting division, not the entire publisher/developer. The fighting division has been dropping the ball and making bad decisions with the fighting games they developed lately. From the division’s infamy of the content from Tekken vs. Street Fighter that was on disc but made into paid DLC regardless to the bare bones launch of Street Fighter V to the lackluster presentation and roster of MVCI despite it’s good gameplay. Also the fighting game division hasn’t been making any new fighting games from existing franchises like Power Stone and Rival Schools. They just focus on mainly Street Fighter V DLC and nothing more. That’s what I was discussing about.

I miss this game. Kyosuke, Kim Kaphwan, and Honmaru was a team that I always went in with. I remember unlocking Shin Akuma was a bitch. But, after many tries, I did it. The K-Groove was one of my favorites: The Rage Gauge. But, the classic 3-levek meter (C-Groove) is always a tried-and-true meter. (Sometimes I would switch Honmaru out with Joe Higashi.)
