yeah, I thought something like that, they made predefined meshes in a certain angle and take a picture, that way the scene is a cone. So, first they raycast or calculate every object within the cone from the player pov and the picture and delete every vertex/meshes behind, then place the actual scene behind the picture then despawn the picture. It's a pretty neat idea, and something I would like to try and experiment myself. I love the stylized art in the beginning, it's not cartoonish but not realist neither.

My guess is that they used either a stencil buffer or adjusted the render order of polygons and disabling the collision on objects that will be intersected with

The Stanley Parable does a similar thing for transitioning between rooms and the dev called it WormHoles. But it basically is the system that Narbacular Drop uses

The game has about 7-8 keys. How could he miss the rewind button when it was demo'd on level 1. "have i messed the game up?" Whats the rush

Ages ago i treid to do a portal, I watched @SebastianLague and @AAlexDoesStuff which helped but i have no idea how i'd do this...
