I love watching your trail riding videos. I am still in the process of learning how to bonk and you get some of the coolest bonking clips!

Great video. I owned the Hohem iSteady V2 gimbal last year but returned it because it was flimsy and had issues. This one finally checks all the right boxes. Glad to see you back making videos. Great review!

Thanks!! Ya, I have one of their smaller gimbals and this one is definitely more sturdier and robust!

nice shots with that gimble my friend!

thanks, some were a bit tighter then I wanted. The ultra wide lens showed the gimbal arm in the shot when using it inverted. I need some sort of angled extension rod for solo shooting more of the follow shots.

I honestly was! You can tell when I realized I didn't have my helmet on when I go for that slow-mo drop and "adjust" my "hat" rofl... I also knew that Sunset lighting was good and wasn't going to last 😜

Gimbal is amazing when going on group ride. But its not the best at capturing self. I feels like best camera thus far is insta 360 x2 & x3. Hohem M6 also does not have extension rod which can be much harder to capture ride.

Very true. It's better for filming others on long rides, but the AI tracking can be good for self-recording trick sessions IMO. I also found that I can extend the gimbal with a center column from one of my tripods, but you lose having ready access to the controls.

@@ThatsGinterEV Hohem makes a small tripod selfie stick that comes with a remote to control their gimbals, including the M6. This allows you to control the gimbal in a limited way while having it extended.

Interesting, I'll have to check that out! Thx!

Hi, what's the max tracking distance? Can it do 50 meters? 2. Can it track you in a crowd of pepole in a city, and continue tracking as you cross the street?
@ThatsGinterEV Жыл бұрын
I think both of those scenarios is asking too much. It will vary on if you use the AI tracker on the gimbal, or use the object/subject recognition from the Hohem app. In either case though, it works best when the subject fills at least half the screen or more - once the subject gets too far, it can lose it, especially in a crowd.

I will be recording myself skateboarding. How many feet away does the tracking work before it stops tracking? Also if I skate around it, does it keep me in frame 360 degrees? Thank you

I've tested it as far as 15ft, but that's probably pushing it. It will also depend on lighting conditions and how fast you move. It's able to resume tracking me as a pass behind objects, but it's not perfect. And the gimbal can swivel 360 degrees continously, so you can set it in the middle of a trick area and do tricks around it.

I'm definitely getting one of those. Can you do a tutorial video of how to film yourself? I'm just starting to ride on trials and I'd like to record my progress 🤙

As cool as this gimbal is, I think it's best use case is for either filming others riding, or perhaps filming yourself doing tricks at a single location. It was quite challenging filming myself while moving (cause I really didn't want to crash with my phone out lol). If you want to film yourself riding trails, I'd get the insta360 x3 camera as it can get your full body in the shot, and you can reframe the shot and track yourself in the app for super smooth footage - check out my video on it here! kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4OVqn13dp6Ui7c
