So heres my take on the situation (not that anybody asked im just giving it) I think what she’s trying to say, is that she does petre. Which is where you regress back into the mindset of an animal you feel comfortable with regressing into. Its sorta similar to agere which is where you regress into the mindset of of a toddler or anything really under that. These are both coping mechanisms. People use them to deal with anxiety, trauma, depression, and sometimes just for fun. But with petre (agere aswell but its kinda different) say you were regressing into the mindset of a cat and or kitten. You would want to do things that make you feel more like a cat. Walking on all fours. Wearing cat ears. Wearing a collar. Drinking and eating from a cat dish. Only useing your actual words unless necessary, and saying more cat like things. Like meowing or whatever else a cat says/ does. Out of that I only saw her do 2 to 3 of those things. The regressing mechanisms I talked about just now are ofc none sexual. And I would say what she was doing was more petplay then petre. Petplay would be the sexual version. Also in the video she stated that she did kittenplay which is petplay but as a kitten- but then she went on to say she was not doing this sexually. I think she is just doing this for attention. She wants any attention she can get rather its bad or good. Bc in minds of the people like that. Any attention, is good attention.

I used to have a middle school friend who believed she was a cat, she'd purr and meow, would rub her face on you, etc, but if she got mad she'd hiss at people, bite them and make them bleed, I was her only friend and when she'd have a meltdown and attack people the special education people would go to my class and take me to her class to calm her down. I'd have to say "come here kitty, come here!" And she'd run on her hands and knees up to me and purr. It was definitely weird, idk what's happened to her afterwards, she moved somewhere else in 8th grade. I always got bullied for being her friend, but I didn't care, since I was also in SPED for my issues. I swear it's a mental disorder or something that varies between people, hopefully they get treatment and hopefully my friend is okay out there in the world.

Hi!! Pet regressor here who also knows lots about therians! I'd like to explain what's going on here. A therian is someone who identifies nonphysically as an animal based on involuntary nonhuman experiences. They do indeed face serious problems just like LGBTQ and Furries, I'm referring here to the 9 year old that got shot. A pet regressor is somebody who acts like an animal as a coping mechanism or just as a way to feel less depressed, it is mostly non-sexual. It's a coping mechanism for when part of your life has been missing due to abuse or mental disorders. I pet regressor for example be because I get very stressed out about my future, and it's a momentary way to escape from that. THIS person, however, is taking Pet regression way way to far. She needs to realize that this is a thing to do in private. "I'm pretty much a kitten 24/7, I wear my gear to work" is very concerning because she's not keeping this a coping mechanism. She's turned this into her whole personality and lifestyle. As a pet regressor, I do not support her.

I know August is never gonna see this comment, but I’d like to give my two cents since he said he didn’t understand A lot of the time, pet play doesn’t lead to anything sexual because it’s often just something that’s part of the whole relationship. The reason people like to be an animal instead of just asking to be taken care of, at least from my own experiences, is because being animal makes them feel protected. The same way a dog feels protected by and protective of their owner, these people likely feel the same. Things like a dog cage can be very comforting because it’s their space, and cat toys can make it feel more authentic. It’s not like therians, who feel like an animal (in most cases, anyway), but more like people who want to live like an animal. It’s the carefree and comfortable life that an animal lives, even though they still have to function in society and be human. I’m foggy on the owner side of it, since I’ve never been apart of any of that, but it never seems to be out of a need to have a puppet or anything like that I don’t really think it was right to call it a weird kink, I believe everything should be respected as long as it’s not harmful to anyone else, especially since hearing something like that could make people who are ashamed of having it feel worse, but I don’t care enough to unsubscribe from a great KZbinr over something that probably bothers no one And if you bothered to read this, thanks!

When they’re a kitten this is true.. but my newer cat is now about 4 years old and he comes to me when I call his name. My other cat is about 12 years old, and she comes to me when I call her name. And if she wants treats she stands on her hind legs and begs. I also can bring her outside without a leash on and she’ll stay by my side without running away. So what I’m saying is.. everything a dog can do.. a cat can do the same.. you just have to train them to.
