@corleth28683 жыл бұрын
The crowd doesn't really matter. They were always going to favour a Canadian especially when she went behind. Raducunu gets the Wimbledon crowd behind her so it balances out over the year I guess and unless she's playing an Aussie I'm guessing the Australians will be on her side too, not so sure about the French but maybe. Watching it in the UK the bias towards Fernandez didn't seem that bad although...... maybe I was shutting it all out and just concentrating on the match.
@mikewhocheeseharry52923 жыл бұрын

@@AN-cy7xm So why did the Interviewer and Leylah herself refer to being the crowd favourite, and thank them, in the Presentation Ceremony? It was patently obvious to anyone watching, you don't need to have been a Brit! I'm just glad Emma was able to overcome that, at 18, a Qualifier with little experience, to overcome the boos when she caught her ball toss in the serve because it wasn't right, and the angry boos when she had to take a MTO for a bleeding knee, with Leylah screaming at the Referee it was unfair as she was on breakpoint, when it's WTA rules and she knows it. She just encouraged the crowd to think Emma did it deliberately.

I'm 5'6" and she's 3 inches taller than me (ok that doesn't say much LOL)! I think given how well she moves and hits the ball so cleanly her height definitely isn't an issue. @seizethedayandlive3 жыл бұрын
@@dtrjones That's great. What I partly meant by my comment is that power in tennis (and in other sports too) doesn't depend primarily on muscles (though that helps). @@MrCostaC how do you know what is irrelevant to me? You mean its irrelevant to you which is why you dont think its important but in the real world all marketing men know that an attractive person will always be more marketable. And yes i do find it nice to watch a beautiful young lady enjoy herself in such a way. Certainly beats watching some sour faced tamtrum throwing brat that tennis is full of. But just cause something might not be relevant to you dont assume you know what is relevant to other ppl.
