4:10 The roleplay here is even better because Ajax ( the first Age hero ) unalived himself after the Trojan War because he got so mad that Odysseus got the Armor of Achilles instead of him. ( This was partly because Odysseus was a better talker but also because Atena helped him ) The reason Achilles lost his armour during the Trojan War to Hector and had to get it back is also kind of interesting ( because Achilles did not get killed until much later in the war ) But that is going to take a longer explanation...

My mate Antisthenes reckons the body of Achilles was of no concern to the Trojans but it was clearly the arms that they were eager to seize. For they were going to give back the body, but the the arms they were going to dedicate at their temples to the gods. TLDR - Odysseus deserved the armor and Ajax needed to check himself. Which he did not do, so outcome was he wrecked himself. No foul from Odyseeus. But I agree - no point detailing this further as no-one cares while Greek remains over powered.

Absolutely yes on viewer games. Seeing the pros is sweet as there's the most to learn, so imo never stop doing that. But, occasionally seeing your candid opinion on lower ELO strats/plays would be great too.

You have to make spearman. There really is no other way to do it. It's like when you're up against Atlantean and they make Katapeltes spam, you have to make axemen. I play Egyptian pretty much exclusively and it's interesting to me. Before Retold you could comfortably spam migdol units without thought. But now you really do have to remember that barracks units exist. Migdol units are so powerful and everyone knows you're going to spam them so you have to do something different and adapt. Counter units are very powerful in retold as well against the thing they're countering.

@@lunix8028 but then that gets countered easily with a cheap spearmen spam. The entire game is rock scizzors paper, which means going fully for 1 unit type usually loses you the game to a player that pays a little attention. Switching units is king, so the best gods are usually the ones with eco upgrades.

@@Fingolfin_the_Warden Oh I know, it doesn't feel great. Anubis spearman with the poison upgrade is pretty ok though. That's why counter units are a little too strong. Migdol units are supposed to be big and powerful and expensive, so seeing them go down to basic counter units feels bad.

Actually the game is pretty balanced right now. Every civ has strenghts and weakenesses. But yea, some god powers / minor gods need tweaks

@@beawulf9 I feel like curse could be temporary. Like the pigs turn back into soldiers after minute later or so. Would give a momentary advantage to the opponent, or he could try to slaughter the pigs I guess, but you have a chance of getting your units back

​@@beawulf9you are delusional. Restoration doesn't do much. Pigs is ok but far inferior to ancestors or frost. Locust is actually ok. Destroying 10 farms is already on par with curse in terms of damage while also having a higher potential if you use in combination with a raid. Fight alteration god powers? 1) Greeks: restoration, bronze, curse, lightning storm 2) Egyptian: snakes, ancestors, meteor, Son of Osiris 3) Norse: frost, burning weapons, Nigdogg, Ragnarok 4) Atlanteans: Shockwave, Chaos, Traitor So among all these you think that Greeks are the problem?

You already have a cost reduction on farms with Ptah, that isn't really the problem, the problem is that you still paid for an inferior food source when you could have just hunted / gone berries / other for a much longer period of time. If anything the issue with Rain is just out and out the value proposition of the rain itself. There are loads of ways to fix that, but they seem disinclined, given it hasn't received any changes so far and they added the berry bonus instead.

I honestly think locusts are really good, taking down 10 farms is huge asf imo Plus it deals significant damages to villagers so a little raid + locusts can be devastating Dont know if its good vs better players tbh

No it is not. It does not enough damage to swing the momentum. You saw curse in thr game. It totally swang the dynamic of the fight. Meanwhile locust does not even kill unmicrod vills

It matters a lot what form resources take. Removing 750 wood's worth of farms affects future resources by stopping the farms from being worked and requiring you to make more. Removing hundreds of resources worth of units during a battle can completely swing the battle, and even win the game then and there, because of the nature of efficiencies of scale and defeat in detail. A larger force will snowball against a smaller force, in extreme cases taking almost no losses, but even small disparities in initial conditions can lead to much larger disparities of outcome. Your opponent can also just build in a manner to minimise your ability to get that value from locusts. It's not hard for them to predict it vs a Ra player.
