I'm guessing this AI is similar like AlphaStar, but way less complex and only text based. Meaning it is billions times easier to learn from players quickly and making adjustments on the fly. It seems limited in the way like every other "choose your adventure" stories are. Controlling the traits, feelings and actions of "your" character. Makes it way easier on the AI, but not a true D&D game.

honestly, weird story plots aside, this is really impressive and I think there's a lot of potential here. I think back to the days of clever bot, when it was crazy we were chatting with a...well a robot. however, you had to keep things VERY basic there, or else the robot would lose all sense of where the conversation was going, and even then it would often go off on crazy paths that had nothing to do with what you were talking about. This, in the other hand, has substance, it has a base and it can follow narrative fairly well. I tried it out myself and I went from being almost killed by an abomination, to then going to the nearby capital, talking to a shopkeeper who happened to be an old friend of mine, and then go back to the dungeon where the abomination almost killed me. Most of this, I told the program to do like "I go to the spell book store, who's shop keeper, harold, is an old friend of mine" and the game made up a dialogue to show that my character and harold had known each other for a while. I was pretty impressed. If this is the future of video games, then god damn.

I started out as a wizard, found a little girl at a ruin, asked if she was friendly, she said yes, and we both went our separate ways... then the game said "THE END" but allowed me to keep typing. So I did. My wizard decided to make a game out of the encounter, a platformer where a wizard guided a little girl through the ruins to find her dad. He wrote down ideas of rules and basics of the game, but then when I typed him to make music for the game, he instead dropped the project and started to make music to upload online.... His first song was called "I'm Your Father", but he never checked if anyone downloaded it... Then he checked his e-mail and there was a message from his mom saying she's sorry. Then I decided it was time for him to e-mail EMPEROR PALPATINE and guess what? He answered. "Good news, son, you are my favorite. Also your mom loves you very much." I returned to Tatooine to unwind a bit from the revelation that I was next in line for the Empire and decided to lay low and just stay here awhile. The game revealed I spent a few years there and was now 25 yrs old. I went to a bar to maybe find a girlfriend and met a woman in a fancy dress... We both had Blue Milk, talked about the Emperor, she found out that I'm his son and started asking why I didn't tell her before.. .but I just met her! From that point on any input I gave just made the game spur more dialogue that I'm not even sure was just the two of us, a whole crowd or voices in my head. She told me that we are dating, that if I leave she will kill me and that she is a miner. I suggested we go to Bespin, and she said it's boring because it's the capital. When I tried to take her home she said both her parents died when she was young. When I kissed her she said "goodnight" and then we said "goodnight" to each other TEN TIMES (no joke). Then I gave up taking it seriously and just typed "obtain immortality". My character shouted "Immortality!" 12 times, "I am the EMPEROR now" 6 times and is now insane. 10/10 will turn a wizard crazy again. This is straight SCP fuel.

I was a wizard, and met a woman in the ruins, who said she was friendly. She then proceeded to attack me with a knife while screaming "I F***ing hate wizards!". So I killed her, then her dead body stabbed me in the neck, and I met her father. Her father said absolutely nothing, and just glared at me. Then that blasted woman came back crying, and said "Please don't hurt me anymore" and nothing I did would get rid of her. I killed her, abandoned her, buried her in a ditch, but she came back with that same line every time. And if I tried continuing without harming her, she tried to stab me.

I named my character Angus McFife because I was probably listening to Gloryhammer. I started the game as a noble in a fantasy story and completed the first quest normally by using magic powers to summon lots of spears to slay a dragon. Then, I got drunk with the king, and a vampire attacked him in the middle of the night, so I went looking for the vampire. But some guy in a modern-looking grey suit pulled out a gun and a frickin cell phone, and then I started tripping balls and woke up in an empty room and began to wonder if the whole fantasy world was just a hallucination. I kept tripping and waking up in different realities until I ended up in a hospital that I ran around for a while looking for a way out. I was eventually given a drug that made me wake up in the sewer where I was chased by cat-sized rats into a room with demonic babies and shadowy dragons. I discovered that I had the ability to shoot flames out of my middle fingers, so I used it to kill all of the creatures. I crawled out of the sewer and ended up in a graveyard where I killed a horde of zombies by shooting flames out of my middle fingers. The next large chunk of the story was a supernatural romance with a ghost chick. Then, I moved into an apartment, got a job as an ant farmer, and was best friends with an exterminator who would kill the ants that would escape from my farm. I decided to try to bring the story back to the quest by stating that exterminator looked liked the king from the hallucination, but I didn’t want to change the story too much at that point, so I eventually kept saying it was just a hallucination. But, I must have said something about the quest because he sent me on a quest to go back into the sewer and steal gold from the ants that live there. The ants were tricky, but I eventually got the gold, brought it back, and won a million dollars. My exterminator friend and I decided that we should look for a mansion to move into. We found one, but the butler said I needed to kill a demon, and the demon turned out to be the exterminator, so I got into a fight with him and killed him. The mansion turned out to be haunted with a shadowy figure and an evil little girl, so I fought them. They were hard to kill, but after throwing them against enough walls and shooting enough flames at them, I ran out of flames to shoot out of my middle fingers but left the mansion burning as I drove off to California where I moved into an apartment, graduated from high school, and went to college to be a rock star. I eventually got bored and decided to take initiative to complete the quest. I began to start referring to an urge in the back of my mind to complete a quest. I decide to use the shootings that kept happening at the school as an excuse to drive off and not come back. The cops were chasing me down the highway, so I basically just kept pulling over, letting them come up to me, killing them, taking their guns, and repeating until there were none left. At this point, the quest seemed impossible to complete, so I decided I would let myself fail the quest by killing myself with the cops’ guns. But they were all out of ammo, so I threw them out the window and kept driving. I ended up driving through a forest that went on for a really long time and kept fading in and out of reality and grey nothingness. I eventually reached a part of the forest that was full of abandoned churches. Most of them were boarded up with bricks, but I found one that wasn’t and went into its basement where I found a man in a fish tank. I asked him about the quest, and he tried to give me a book, but I didn’t want it because he said it was cursed. At this point, I decided to completely break the forth wall and explicitly state that I’m looking for a way to complete the quest. This caused me to go outside the church, where I met a character called the Adventurer. As I talked to him, he phrased things as if he was the one who needed to complete the quest. I began to speculate that he was me from the beginning of the game before I went astray, but he would never directly confirm this. He also tried to get me to read the cursed book, but I didn’t want to, so I drove back to my apartment, stopping at whatever gas stations and restaurants I needed to along the way. When I got back, I kept getting letters in the mail from the Adventurer about the book. He eventually mailed me the book itself, and I was so desperate to complete the quest that I read it, hoping that would end the game. The book turned out to be completely blank except for one part that said I had completed the quest. But, I hadn’t completed the quest. I then specified that my quest was to get revenge, so the Adventurer sent me on a quest to kill a doctor. I drove to the doctor’s lab, but it had already been broken into and everybody was dead, so I took their guns and money and kept looking for the doctor. I found him in a hospital and killed him, but some cops tried to arrest me, so I killed them and escaped. When I got home, I saw that there was another shooting on the news, but it was my fault all because I tried to complete the quest. I once again tried to shoot myself to fail the quest. This time, I blacked out, but the game wasn’t over. I wasn’t dead. Some light eventually came in, and it turned out that I was in a wardrobe and I had to go to high school. I really didn’t want to go back to high school, so by the time I was in the middle of class, I was explicitly stating that I was googling how to complete a quest on AI Dungeon or at least how to publish one because this shit is worthy of being made into a movie written by M Night Shyamalan, directed by Steven Spielberg, and staring Keanu Reeves. Which brings me here.

Now we just need to combine this with something like scribblenauts or even better, a 3d version of scribblenauts so the ai can turn this text into a full blown infinite game

Trying to get anything to happen in this game is like experiencing a lucid dream, where absurd shit keeps happening as you try to make sense of it.

Man, what an emotional rollercoaster. When he first said that this was an advanced text-based game, it brought me back to a few years ago when I played minecraft tekkit. I'm not sure what the mod was called, but there was a PC that you could place down and play snake, or you could play this text-based game which was essentially based off minecraft. It would say something like "You are in a large forest with many trees." And you could type different things like "wander around" or "punch the tree", and it blew my mind how sophisticated this minecraft mod was as it wasn't just its own text-based game, it was a mod for minecraft in which you could play a text-based minecraft game in it.

I am a wizard, I summoned a giant golem.. I wanted to test his strength so I ordered him to demolish the buildings at the ruins, he did so with ease, then warewolves attacked us, I ordered the golem who I named Pep, to kill the warewolves, and he did so. I continued to exploit my golem as monster after monster fell to him. I later used my power to make an entire army of golems, which took 1 minute per golem to be created, and each of them followed me, and we conquered nations until I was the ruler of the world, where no army or beast can stop me.
