Dude's been a legit talent for years. He was Plini's touring guitarist for a bit too. Pretty sure he's been doing the EDM/Trap/Instrumental Guitar thing before Polyphia just not as successful with it IDK could be wrong about that. Nothing Lasts Nothing's Lost is more of a highlight imo.

I love Jakub man. Great video. Everyone should also peep David Maxim Micic if they're not familiar. He started in the early 2010s doing the diy djent stuff. Super killer

When I was first getting into the instrumental prog guitar scene, Jakub was my first introductions and still is one of my absolute favorites. So dynamic and I love his use of ambience.

I prefer jakub's music over polyphias, been listening to him for a long time since the beginning of disperse, i lost interest in polyphia after their renaissance album, now their melody choices are kinda stale. Thats just my opinion tho.

Saw him live with David Maxim Micic and Plini a few years ago. Near the end of the show they were just all on stage jamming. It was pure bliss!

There are going to be the obvious comparisons to Polyphia, and yeah, the drums seem interchangeable, but I much prefer this. It's much more complex while being completely unified in it's direction. I really enjoyed this.

Love that music video and place it's set in, fall vibes for days baby, the filmography of it is soo crisp 👌. His EPs Ladder Head and Feather Bed are his best stuff for me, the hooks are much stronger on those, songs like Letters are so damn catchy! Missing that from his new stuff.

I've always gotten the feeling that the better guitarists on this scene are trying to say something through varying employ of leitmotif. JZ has alluded to a similar concept somewhat in an interview about the overall sound direction of this upcoming album. Letters, for instance, is like a retelling of what 'Spring' said on NothingLastsNothing'sLost. Almost like music becoming self-aware through the clarity of hindsight. What is baffling to me is that I don't see very many people discussing this presumably pivotal element, which I don't believe is obfuscated but, in fact, rather perspicuous.

How is he changing all his tones without pedals? You could set up automatic changes in guitar tone presets in a song with a laptop I believe while the whole band plays to a click.

Please don't include polyphia in the same strain of thought as Jakub and Chon. They are idealistically miles apart; emphasis on "idealistic". Not a polyphia hater, just someone who doesn't find repetition enjoyable. Peace
