What cool possibilities do you think this could enable?

Possibly used as a hearing aid for those with complete deafness. I wonder if you could learn to interpret sounds or even spoken language with it.

Vibration as language could have fascinating implications. Feeling the vibrations a whale or tree emits, and most importantly if possible, emitting them back, could change our perception of the world forever. Non-verbal, non-symbolic communication, could also be used to interact with people with low-functioning autism, or people in comatose states... even microbial life, terrestrial or otherwise. Communicating with a cell, through vibration, to self repair. Some animals already communicate this way with the Earth, plants, each other, through seismc vibration. For humans, it would be a new world.

You could use this for more immersive vr games by using the suit for more immersion in vr games, also imagine all the possibilities of this and Beat Saber

So many new possibilities!! They should make a suit with movement sensors so that a dancer can wear it and their movement can be translated into vibrations so you can feel the dance- then blind people can also get in on the fun

I feel music, I am a hearing person but this is a reason I was drawn to be a musician. I also internal music as movement. I have sound synesthesia.

Yeah, I have 5 of these things. Bought them 15 years ago. They were made for gamers. Always thought it was pretty cool. It's about time these things became more widely known.

Soooo interesting, I wanna try that out. For me, and a lot of people, music is such a big part of life. Alone to be able to feel it without having a bass smashing your ears would be a dream!

This is amazing, absolutely brilliant. One suggestion : subtitles for the video. This is very important for the Deaf community, so it would make sense to have an inclusive video.

What is want to know if this can convey a level of communication. Can one vibrate a word and have someone wearing the vest understand it? Or can you vibrate a tune and have the recipient hum it back as intended? Or is it just a feeling?

From my experience with my full haptic vest with built in digital to analog converter (DAC) with Amp & uses voice actuators to replicate exact frequencies of instruments. It's crazy I can hear the difference between lots of instruments like identify a violin compared to a guitar, even electric vs. acoustic . It also when I play with the calibration then I can literally hear/feel lyrics sung. One time I was trying to answer a call from my mother & I forgot to link my earbuds then when I answered I could hear my mom speaking but it sounded faint and like she was talking from inside something and when I tried turning it up & earbudd didn't output I realized her voice sounded that way cause I was hearing her speak inside me like thru my bones/ ribs like it sounded inside me but also like she was lower than me
