A subscriber saw one of my latest helicopter videos and mentioned I should get one of these RC Rea C123 heli's because it is direct drive with no gearing. My Eachine 180 also is direct drive, so I thought I would try this and bought it from AliExpress. This 1 button switch will mess with your mind, especially if you already can fly 3d helis. A subscription would be nice. Here's a link to the 180 fling inverted with NO cheat switches .~Dave • What!? It doesn't?

Brings back memories of my RC plane days. I use to fly and teach others to fly RC planes and loved to fly them upside down in figure eights. Takes some minor thinking to remember some controls are reversed. And one day an expert was at the field and flying a very expensive helicopter and I was watching him. He than came over to me while fly his 'copter and forcefully handed me the controls and stated fly this. I told him I didn't know how and he stated, just fly it like a plane. And so I did. Amazingly I didn't crash and was able to fly it pretty well... Of course I didn't try any upside down with that situation... lol

_"because they lost it in the sky and got disoriented"_ I can attest to that, I transitioned from a fixed wing RC flyer to RC Helis, I learned using a hula-hoop on the skids, and maintaining orientation after I removed the hula-hoop was my biggest issue. The best training aid that had was an RC flight simulator for my PC. The way that I used it was to fly the Heli out to distance to where it was small and harder to tell it's orientation so I would get used to it. Another thing that I used was an *_FMA Co-Pilot,_* the Co-Pilot was an infrared two axes stability augmentation system that's control influence could be set from no influence to full influence, as I started getting more and more comfortable fly my Helis would reduce control influence of the Co-Pilot until I finely removed the Co-Pilot altogether. That has been well over 20 years ago.

Ouch! Yes, my JR Prop Century VII had 2 invert switches. 1 was a cheat switch, like this one, and 1 switch was for doing it the right way, which simply locked the engine on full. In my next video, on my Direct Drive Eachine 180, I will show that radio and the switches. I never used the cheat switch, as those went away and I'm glad I learned the right way. But alas, trying to fly this inverted is easy, but I get confused if I start thinking about it with this one. LOL. Thanks kindly

I was all set to light my pitchfork, and leave a snotty comment about how all the RC Heli folk are shilling this heli, but then I noticed there no affiliate link, so I'm all disappointed now, lol. Nice heli, Banggood and AE are just so tempting, it seems like every week I find myself pulling the trigger on something else. For instance I quite liked the look of the old Blade 70, but they don't make it anymore, so I was interested to see that there's a version on Banggood made by Esky, so I ended up buying 1 of them last night.

The old school futaba super 7 had a switch labeled inverted, when you went upside down u could flip that switch and it would change your controls so it was as if your flying normal. That's the 90s for you. Had that on my ergo 60. Not that I ever used it, literally more of a pain then just learning how to fly correctly. Surprised there wasn't a switch labeled "head in".
@NightFlyyer
@NightFlyyer Ай бұрын
I had that Futaba radio as well, but like you never used. There are pictures of it in some of my old Radio videos. When I worked at Kraft, I made Roll buttons and snap roll buttons for customers, along with cross trims and expo, which we invented. Since this was the only radio with that cheat switch, I couldn't risk learning inverted hover that way. Head in? LOL. All my radios and switches today can be confusing to me, now at 77 years old and now this..... Thanks for commenting and Semper Fi.

I think they're both valid points but if you really wanna learn to fly heli, these toy ones aren't much help. that includes people who just wanna fly around the yard or do tricks by pressing buttons. the non-standard battery systems are ridiculous the prices are ridiculous and they really don't fly very well or handle wind at all, and are essentially junk. in my opinion. i've been tasked to repair some of these things and I'm saying firsthand buy a hobby grade and stop messing around or you're just gonna get turned off to the hobby because you always have to ask people for help like me and then I gotta spend my afternoon fixing pricey toy that nobody should ever bought goosky who makes some of the best helicopters out there is about to drop the UH60 blackhawk built on real 3-D helicopter chassis, I would recommend one of those 100 times out of 100 over over one of these toys. buy a legend S1 and a simulator program and a radio to use with the sim and never ever buy anything by spectrum and you will be good. Don't need instruction im 2024 you just need patience lots of time and hundreds of hours on the sim and practicing with the chopper, no matter who you are you'll be a good heli pilot eventually.
