It's both easiest to preserve and hardest, in a way. Especially when people don't follow the 3-2-1 backup rule. It's easy to click on a file and save it, but if you don't have reliable backups, one thing goes wrong with your machine and everything could be lost. Sure, preserving physical objects is also hard because you have to limit all external factors like temperature, humidity or even sunlight if you don't want something specific to destroy with age. But unless there's a flood or a fire in the building it's kept in, a physical object won't just disappear, but a computer file could in many circumstances be erased completely in a matter of microseconds.

Herobrine is, debatably, one of the most successful and effective creepypastas in the history of the internet. Somewhere, in your mind, when you play, he’s there. I'm honestly surprised no one from Copeland's chat recorded and backed it up. I know the idea of backing up livestream stuff may have been less then as it is today, but I feel like there has got to have been someone in his chat who was like "oh, this will be a funny prank, let's record it so everyone can see the reactions later." Maybe I'm just thinking as someone who has seen a ton of twitch clips now and not thinking as someone from over 10 years ago, but with how much people love documenting pranks and have since the advent of recording, it definitely feels like something someone had to have thought to do.

Back in those days that wasn't really a thing you thought. Cell phones still flipped. Megapixels were still the defining thing for any camera... 5 megapixels was crazy in those days. Anyways,Streaming did happen but it wasn't like how it is now. KZbin was still mostly in its toddler and tween years? Netflix was the only movie streaming platform. Mostly, if you wanted people to see a thing... You pre-recorded it more often than not. Or you made a big deal about a live event several days and weeks ahead of time. All those videos with the bandicam watermark in them? 2011 was when those all happened. Screen recorders weren't as readily available as they are now and that was one of the big free ones. RACE FOR THE WOOL, Complete The Monument world's by Vechs in his Super Hostile map series! (P.S. Legendary was the best one before Minecraft really started becoming"modernized") JL2795, Guude, Etho, BDoubleO and the rest of the MindCrack guys, DocM77, SethBling, Yogscast and their mystery adventure series etc etc

Never played MineCraft, never heard of Herobrine (wrong generation, probably) but still found this interesting.

July is really the month for solving some Minecraft mysteries in 2024, first the Copeland herobrine stream was found and then the “very strange house in Minecraft that I did not build” video has also been solved

Did you just call me old for growing up before minecraft?

Lost media related to creepypastas like Jeff The Killer's original image are more interesting than the stories themselves.

jorge has some sort of power where if he makes a video on something it gets found less than a day later. All that being said, please make a video on slamfest!!!! I need to see it!!!!

i recently scared my little cousin into behaving because herobrine would come for him (he then died on minecraft and blamed it on herobrine, poor kid was scared shitless) the legend still lives

Amazing how your videos always seem to help find media quickly. Happy the stream was found though i wonder if someone can fine the mod

I never saw the Copeland stream, but I did see the clip on a compilation of Herobrine "sightings" on KZbin. Two of my best friends and I were big into Minecraft at that time, and I remember watching at least one compilation that included the Copeland clip. When I sent it to them, we joked that there were other clips that were more "realistic" as Herobrine was flat in the Copeland clip and 3D in the other ones

Well, this is a really big coincidence. Right after the day this video was uploaded, the Original Brocraft Herobrine stream was found! What a timing tho

It wasn’t a coincidence, someone watched this video and realized it was lost. This video is why it got found

The fact the actual stream came out about the same time this did actually makes me feel bad that blameitonjorge had to spend all this time making this video for no reason.
@mmlkshake5 ай бұрын
well, not no reason, since i believe that the stream was found because someone saw the video and realized they had footage of the stream? though i could be remembering incorrectly lol
