@@Whiteinrevery Yes, it's a few extra steps to turn on the hdmi time codes in canon but it works.

This tiny feature will keep me smiling during my shoots for at least a year :) Enabled it on my GH5. Just make sure you're not shooting in MP4, because that will disable the timecode-feature in the first place.

This worked on my A6300. If you skipped to the Sony part you're going to be missing a crucial part that involves the SmallHD monitor using the Metadata Tool that was shown in the GH5 part.

Yes, Yes, YES!! Imma try this on my a7iii. So many times I’ve not been recording when I thought I was and vice versa, as you yourself experienced. Now a need a simple way to show if I’m in auto or manual focus and a way to show when I’m in aps-c crop mode or full frame. I have these 2 functions set to custom buttons but there’s no indication on the screen when I’m in those modes. Shot in crop mode a few times without realising

David Ho Nguyen thanks for noticing 😉 filmed 4k 10bit in V-Log. The big kicker is the brand new v-log conversion lut I’ve been developing. It’s going to be an upgrade to the one I currently have for free on gamut. Then I polish it with Dolce 01 at 35%. I’m really stoked on this new conversion lut and will have other profiles match it as well.

Hey there! Great video man. Unfortunately doesn't work with my SmallHD+A7III combo. I have an "older" smallHD monitor, a 502 bright, do you know if this feature only works with newer/touch screen monitors? My Sony firmare is 3.01 (latest is 4.0), don't know firmware might have something to do with it. Thanks!

Just bought the SmallHD Focus Panasonic pack and for the life of me I can't figure out how long my battery should take to charge? It shows a red light still once it's charging. Does the light change once it has fully charged? I am wanting to boot this thing up and get started but I wanna make sure the first charge is also done right. Its been currently charging for about 5 hours.

After 5 hours it should be ready to use for sure. Once you add it to the unit, power it on and the batter indicator should be in the top right letting you know how full it is or how much battery is left with a charge. hope that helps!

Anyone else had odd behavior on focus 5” where it seemed to lose the smallhd activation in monitor during a shoot and causing a re-activation in order to continue using monitor? Fuji xt4, focus 5”, full core swx battery 80% full, 16GB Samsung micro sd + standard full sd adapter. Was so annoyed today in middle of dance shoot the monitor stop displaying camera output even after few restarts, and reset to factory settings still didn’t help. Had to login to smallhd site again on my phone to activate monitor again causing downtime in middle shoot. Haven’t checked for firmware updates but last time I did check and confirm was on latest firmware was when I got the monitor about a month ago. Only other thing I can think of is I did load a custom lut that I made and used on that micro sd card but I doubt that was the issue. Even hdmi cable was the smallhd official cable from monitor

Have you made sure Timecode is turned on? It corresponds with Timecode I believe.

Hey! I have the same monitor, but for some reason after 10-15 minutes it can reboot itself and always resets all settings and registration. I changed the batteries, it didn't help. WTF?))

Quality Antics make sure your small hd is up to date!! It doesn’t have the metadata overlay on older software versions
