In Canada, Walmart sells Liviva organic Shirataki noodles with oat fiber, 400g pouch for $3.97. Yes, same funky smell, but just rinse it under cold water, drain well, then heat in a non-stick skillet on high for a few minutes to 'dry' them out. This helps your sauces stick better, and the noodles absorb the flavors well too. I use them in everything, but do NOT put them in a soup you plan to freeze (add before serving), as it changes the texture...lesson I learned the hard way, lol. I've tried many brands over the years, but these are my favorite. Macros : 100g serving is 15 cals/ 4 carbs/ 3 fiber= 1 net carb. Love you two!❤

I recently learned about shiritaki udon noodles. Had them tonight Pho style. I'm Caribbean so my versions of things are super flavorful. Added velveted chicken and boiled eggs. Crushed red peppers and mushrooms. Delicious! I actually added a few pinches of glucomannan powder to just barely thicken the broth to help it coat. It wasn't very noticeable but worked fine. I keep the powder on hand as it makes amazing sauces and gravies.

Thanks for reminding me about these noodles. I have been using the Immi noodles most often. Because of this video I tried it again and remember how good it was. I used shrimp with snow peas, mushrooms and red pepper. Will now add this to my noodle rotation.

I think the smell is actually the brine they are packaged in. Rinsing thoroughly and using your method sounds like a great idea! One question: how is the texture? I remember it being somewhat rubbery; does the pre-cooking eliminate that?

Volume eating works with the stomach stretch signals to your brain to stop eating. I sometimes take advantage of that with shirataki noodles and salads when I don't want to eat the caloric load of eating meat to reach my protein satiety threshold of around 24 ounces or my fat satiety. I can easily eat more than 3 pounds of food in one sitting so every kind of satiety helps.
@SkullTeamShin8 ай бұрын
I haven’t used Miracle Noodles in a while but I’ve been able to remove the smell from House Foods Tofu Shirataki and other Shirataki noodles by rinsing them, boiling them in water with some salt added for 5+ minutes and draining. They’re neutral in smell and taste after that.

@cmfernandez92838 ай бұрын
Another great video. I have fallen in love with It's Skinny brand and Miracle Noodles. A good rinse under really hot water followed by the dry cook method is more than enough to get rid of any off-putting flavors, and the noodles will soak up any flavor once you cook them in your sauce for a few minutes. It's Skinny noodles have a more appealing color because there is oat fiber in the recipe, so anyone turned off by the neon white color of Miracle Noodles will probably like them more. And maybe it's just me, but I get a hint of wheat-like flavor from them as well.

It's been a while since I've seen anyone touched Shirataki noodles. I think they are great and useful. I get them from my Asian Food Store for a couple of bucks. This Stir fry looks delicious. I like to put them into a simmered savory stew or broth soup, like Ramen style. They really soak up the flavor and get a softer texture after simmering a bit in broth.

I did change my usual treatment of the noodles and did cook them this time only 3 min. or so then dry roasted them. Wow...they did indeed absorb the sauce rather than the sauce just sitting around the surfacee. Texture was better also. It will never replace wheat noodles but certainly an improvement and perfect for asian type recipe, IMHO. And...having no shrimp but had de-boned chicken thigh which I cut into strips this workd very well...but I will be repeating with shrimp in the near future. I will be looking or ordering online for the Thai version as I only had the fettuccini. It worked too! Thanks for the recipe ansd tips!
