"Troubles so Hard" is a song originally written in the 1930's and re-used in a Moby song in I think the late 90's. Ren properly got permission from the foundation to use it (it's actually sampled in the official MV).

Same here in England, our new govt is slowly turning us to a private health insurance system, but most people are unaware while the NHS logo is still on show. Ren will fare better with Canada especially as he says he is now financially self-sufficient.

Music helped the ice to thaw! Then he used the chisel and the hammer of Thor. He references the Excalibur sword in a couple of his songs I think three.. i’m sure everybody told you but there’s like an eight part or nine part series where he talks about his life and shows a video at the end of each monologue about 30 minutes each and they’re very insightful so if you want to pretty much hear his life story from his spoken word, you should check it out and then as soon as he finished releasing those, he dropped the song troubles, the rap version then this version about two weeks later. I’m not sure if you did the Fred again mashup that he turned into acoustic song. If not, you should check it out. It’s really dope, but he films out at his apartment in Alberta. His story is really crazy man too long for me to write, but I don’t think you’ve done the songs for Joe and freckled angel and suicide yet but basically he told his mom he was going to take his own life if they didn’t have a diagnosis and plan to improve his health by the second years end. The only thing that kept him from doing it is his best friend did it first and he saw the impact that had on his family and he couldn’t put his mother through that he calls the stem cell doctor an angel because he virtually does the treatment for free which is about $25,000, but his son was also struggling musician so he took a liking to Ren instead, as long as he made his way to LA, he would do the treatment for free as long as he documented it in exchange. Unfortunately, not too long after the place shut down I believe because of lawsuits and what not you know the medical field is!

Opening riff is also similar to Sting ‘Shape of my Heart’. Ren is a fan of both Nas and the Police. You’re right, this was recorded earlier this year in Calgary. He went home to Brighton, England in July, but has now returned to Calgary due to a recurrence of his illness. You might find the Chapters interesting @renmakesstuff. In the 8 segments, written and read by Ren himself, he tells the story of his life, from illness to success with the band the Big Push. It is well written, and answers a lot of questions about REN’s struggle for health.

In Chapter 4 Ren talks about the self-harm thing. He smashed a television he found on the street to peaces and used a shard of glass to cut into his chest. How bad must you feel that this is relief for you. So hard. ❤🫂

I think at one point in time during his sickness and questioning his diagnosis he was upset with God, but I don’t think he gave up on him. I think he kept pushing forward and believing which is why the diagnosis finally came about.
