Completely unreal Stalin was waiting and knew it was coming soon just didn’t know when he changed their military dramatically by 1939 but the Germans were too well trained their frontlines weren’t organized but they had everything ready in numbers Germany just destroy so much so quickly it’s crazy

I think the spam of 1 Infantry divisions was the tactic Taurer uses and ive used as well. You can train the 1 infantry alot faster than the full division and you dont need all the equipment, then you switch their template to the full division and boom you get everything out and ready in like half the time.

The downside with this is that most of the division will be Green, whereas a division that is recruited normally would be more experienced

In the Soviet style, I'd do smaller units for the river fall back line, and send the full ones to the front. Eventually the bottleneck is not manpower or training time but equipment.

I still do it all the time. Biggest thing I try to equip if I can is maintenance companies if I know I’m going to be short some equipment before a war (or even if I already have enough so I get extra) Capture what I can while still producing. Might be a bit of a niche tech to use, but I use it all the same

It hurts seeing the Soviet airforce state and that he didn't do Military reorganization before Whenever I play the Soviets I always make sure to prioritize removing some debuffs to the airforce and military reorganization before 41, so the troops are at least in an acceptable status

Yeah , i always rush the purge and do a bit of industry around the end 1940-41 , in all the time on between i just fix the army and airforce

@@luk-128 Pretty much my order is rush the purge, then Commitern to send Spain some advisors, and since it will be 175 days between purges I either check if I can continue the industry tree or I move to focuses that are near the next purge (and once in a while one to reduce the paranoia since I only allow to purge the navy, the Army I'm concerned he may end up getting rid of someone with good stats like Zhukov)

I mostly do Industry and Military to maintain The Stalin Line with AA, mostly because i priorize having full equipment with 120 infantry 30 withs divisions with a Bunch of Artillery

I remember having a Germany Game that went well until Barb was launched in 1943, I had completely forgot about the OP Soviet Union mod that I had turned on, in which they spammed out over 1000 divisions, and had immense power. The only reason I won was thanks to my industry and the luck of having powerful enough divisions to make a breakthrough in the centre, where I managed to encircle 400 soviet divisions in Belarus

This happened to me just that not only was I prepared but they pushed me all the way to Stalin line and I couldn’t push back for more than 20 tiles until I would be pushed back to my original starting pt.This went on UNTIL 1948 started 1942,by the end I had like 20million casualties and so did the Germans

I've never had problem with naval invasions unless I'm in a very shit situation like being Greece against the Axis. I think as the Soviets you don't really need to worry about naval invasions unless you're at war with Japan. Other than that naval invasions aren't really an issue.

You are playing some different HOI4, it seems. When i was relatively new as a USSR player i lost baltic states to the naval unvasions at least twice.

I'm not lying at all I just put my navy out and have my army hold until I can build a big enough Airforce. I don't understand why everyone else has this issue with the axis or think they're a juggernaut of a nation when the most I'll get pushed to is maybe Kiev. If you're playing the Soviets put a few dockyards into subs and then spam the Baltic sea with them, they'll be to busy dealing with the Allies who are ridiculously overpowered to deal with your navy. Put up some CAS to do naval strikes and destroy ports so they can't even use their navy or get supply because I do that every game as the Soviets and it works against the AI. In a multiplayer game however this obviously wouldn't work. As the Soviets focus on Infantry and Air, Tanks aren't really good anymore but if you do build tanks make them really cheap and put them into your infantry divisions as recon companies. for your Airforce max out your CAS upgrades and get CAS 2 as soon as possible because your CAS will be able to dogfight enemy fighters while having better stats. Logistical strikes also prevent the enemy from pushing you because they suffer penalties from low supply and if you're bombing their navy into the ground they can't naval invade you so long as you have a decent enough navy.

i still find it crazy how unprepared some people are so late into the game. im not even good at hoi4 and i can easily have 2 full army groups of 9/1 with support and a full army of tanks plus 72 ten width inf for port guard. top of that i have air superiority. hell i did the romonov civil war and still crushed Germany

@@user-pn7jz9vr2z Regardless of whether or not i watch Bittersteel, that doesn't change the fact that the Soviet Union is the strongest nation in the game. If you have a basic understanding of micro and production, you could easily outproduce and stomp Germany. vs the ai, you don't even need optimal templates. 18width pure inf with support can easily stop the German advance in its tracks.

@@Spazzz123 the US can be destroyed by AI México in early game, Ive seen it happen. The thing is that trying to take a single tile from the US in late is almost impossible, and they can litterally supply every western ally army by themselves. The Soviets and the US would be pretty even I would say, if it wasnt for the Great Patriotic War. The US has a lot of more time to keep building civilian industry, and that equals having the chance to do ANYTHING you want from mid to late.
