You've done a great job bringing Skelator back to better health. You do an amazing job with all the horses! It's heartwarming to see someone who cares so much to take on the challenge of giving these horses a second chance❤. You are definitely their angel on earth! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Nigel reminds me so much of my Candy, such sass! She was big enough for me to ride when I was 12 (I was small for my age) and what fun she was. I learned to pay attention when we were trail riding near trees, she would do her best to brush up against trees to keep me on my toes! After her, no horse we had was spunky enough to keep me engaged the way she did. My dad sold her when her hoves became foundered due to her stubborn eating habit of only eating sweet mash. Back then, there was no known cure for founder. There was no internet & our library had no info on horse medical issues. I was heartbroken & tried to sneak onto the trailer with her when they were taking her away. Obviously I was floored when you talked about curing foundered hooves.😔 I'm over 60 now & don't think I will ever be able to ride again with my bad back. For many years I'd hoped to be able to own an Arabian or Andalusian, 2 of my favorites. I think I would have been happy just to own a horse I could ride because I couldn't ride as often as I wanted, Candy wouldn't let me tighten the cinch enough that my little saddle wouldn't slide sideways.(She was such a stinker, she would turn around & bite whoever in the butt while saddling her😏 There was no bareback for me, she had such a round belly my legs stuck out on her sides, no way I could hold on! Though I really wished I could considering how she hated the cinch strap. I saw some cringeworthy treatment of horses by others back then & hated it. So I REALLY appreciate how you are with yours❤❤❤.)

I really enjoy Nigel showing off how good he feels now. I went back and watched his auction video again. He was bony, skinny, leaking pus on the side of his face, and trying really hard to chew sone of that cheap hay at the auction so he could just stay alive until you found him.. He must have a tremendous will to live. He knew you were coming to save him if he could just hang on a little longer, so he did. Thank you for saving Nigel. You have taught countless KZbinrs that old age is not a disease and grumpy little ponies need proper care and love. You are amazing! I can tell you from experience that a blind horse can do amything a sighted horse can do, as long as the rider is watching out❤❤. Maybe not barrel race, but certainly be a lesson horse or therapy horse, or go on trail rides. Once blind their other senses kick in and they are active and happy as ever. ❤Nigel

Every time i see Skelly, i fall in love all over again. He's just beautiful. The 2 Hanoverians I knew had dog-like personalities as well. One of them was a jumper (around 18 hands tall), the other was like a big goofy dog trying to be a lap dog (16+ hands). He'd try to itch his head on my little early teen self and about topple me over. They were both quite a bit larger than Skelly as they were 100% Hanoverian

Back in the late 70's a farrier trimmed our back yard ponies, he also trimmed for a TB ranch. He told a story how they had a pony teaser named Dante that they turned out with the mares because he was so little, they had no worries about the 16+ hand mares being open. Surprisingly enough some of those same mares kept missing cycles and were in fact pregnant. Only thing they could think of was that a stud had gotten out, spent the night with the mares, and someone found him in the morning- putting him back without telling anyone. Once those mares started foaling out the mystery was solved. The first foal was named Dante's Revenge. Every time I see Nigel getting all googly eyed over Prim, I remember that story. Crafty little things those pony stallions.
