I was top in the ladder for a game like MU. I didn't have to p2w, but did buy in. It was worth it. I appeared in the rankings and made awesome friends. I was only about 16 and could easily afford minor microtransactions. However, my in game wealth came from being a top player who earned rare drops for the most part and I had all best in slot gear.

Its fine if you dont agree but I asure you lots of mmo players prefer tab targeting combat, probably most of them. Just look at wow, ff14 and other top mmos. I mostly enjoy mmos for its pvp and I prefer tab targeting as well, like Archeage.

The fact that the designers of the games you mentioned have created that style of combat does not mean that players "prefer" that style of combat for PVP, that style of combat is old and could be considered discontinued, it is true that for a MMO with massive PVP, it is easier to design a game with Tab Target, without hitbox or collision, thus saving many resources in balance and design flaws, which start from problems with the graphics engine, in addition to the graphical load in a Tab Target is much lighter than in an action combat, however, even so, there have always been different MMOs or multiplayer with Action Combat such as Tera, RiderZ, C9, Vindictus (the old one, not the one in development) Black Desert, New World. Nothing is better enjoyed than evading or blocking the enemy attack, counterattacking, being counterattacked, winning or losing doesn't matter, because you enjoy the path of continuing to improve your reflexes and muscle memory. Everything evolves, especially combat in MMOs.

@@Khenkai wow is classic, and there's players that just grew up with tab targeting. FF14 pvp is a joke and always has been; coming from a player that was max pvp rank in ARR before frontlines. Tab target is low skill and more of a stat check with no spacing or tactics other than CD management.

Saw the trailer and got hyped. Combat looks actually great and not just good for being an MMO (like New World) but good in general action rpg (and souls like) standards. If it turns out as good as it looks then I'm gone gone from new world.

I don't think action combat and pay 2 win works at all unless it's a bad combat system. But then it's a bad game so it won't work. But I also believe they will find some ways to make money of the players if they so wish. But buying power isn't gonna be it. Maybe stuff like xp boosts or something.

I always thought Archeage could of made a really good pve mmo, i think the pvp side was a serious downfall as it tends to add an extreme toxic community which is never good for an mmo, i think AoC will have the same fate but we shall see, i think instance pvp like in gw2 is better so we keep pvp and pve separate, makes for a much nicer community where ppl help each other and communicate and act as a team.

Hmmm, personally, I didn't like BDO combat. I played only for one week to know it was not for me. New world combat is, for me, ideally good even if in the practice is unbalanced. But who knows, maybe this game surprises me, and it is very good to have an alternative to NW if it keeps me disappointing in the pvp.

ArcheAge is a game that was a great game. But it is made by a Korean game studio, made for Koreans. Made to be P2W and one of the grindiest MMORPG that exists. AA Chronicles will be the exact same shit. I don't understand why people bother when it comes to Korean MMOs specifically. It's the same P2W and predatory shit over, and over again.

Archage was a very toxic game, at least for me. Never managed to get past lvl 40 because of high lvl players always killing lowlvls. I'm not holding my breath about this one either....

SK MMOs are so notoriously awful with P2W, even when they say and promise... they still end up with horrible mechanics and store. I did enjoy AA despite this, but would just play for 6 months and quit, wait for a new server/fresh start and another fun 6 months. haha And something would be nice in 2025 since Ashes is looking like 2026
