Hey Captain, that looked like tons of fun for sure! Try this recipe next time…put your prepared filets (seasoned to taste) in a baking dish, and spread a mixture of sour cream and Parmesan cheese (mix it up in a bowl before spreading) and bake it till it starts to brown a little or about 10 minutes…take it out and let it cool for a few minutes and then eat with whatever side you prefer. This is the only way I have ever really liked Bluefish… if you try it, I hope you enjoy it…tight lines!!,

Dolphin island back in the 70s was the destination on the coast . There was the Spyglass Inn and the Gulf State Park was the only 2 places to stay near Gulf shores There was nothing else there. The water was like Destin and plenty of big Conch shells. We had to leave the state park because of the roaches , but the Spy Glass in was nt any different .

how late in the year can you fish before it starts to get cold up there? I know you can fish all year like but it's not like down here where I'm in in SW FL where it's 70-80 in Jan and you can still go out in shorts and t-shirt.
@robgover8341 Жыл бұрын
We don’t really have a fall or winter . Not to say we don’t have cold days, but it could be 35-40 degrees one day and 70 the next. Even on our coldest days it usually warms up to 45-50 by noon.

Cap... as a Northeast Blue Fisherman the trick is bleed them, filet them same day and soak filets in whole milk for 24hrs... then cook em up.. up here on Long Island we catch them up to 18lbs , those little 2 and 3lb blues are the best eating..

We get blue fish in the Chesapeake Bay all the time... Two ways we use them is fish cakes or smoked.. Both ways are great on the boat as a snack. You can snack on cold fish cakes with mustard and crackers or smoked fish bites straight from the Ziploc.....And yes you are correct always bleed them out. If you leave the blood bluefish will taste nasty before you hit the pier... By the way what happened? Why no Tanner!😂
@CaptCollier Жыл бұрын
Man y’all get some pretty big ones over there right? And both those ways sound awesome. I’m sure people who told me they were no good didn’t bleed them. Tanner’s always fishing somewhere either on someone else’s boat or with me lol
@mmnnra55 Жыл бұрын
@@CaptCollier yeah we get some fairly large Blue fish in the Bay. I don't Target bluefish specifically. I come across them mostly when trolling for Rock. I try to get off of them as quick as I get on them. They're like piranhas, they rip my tackle up.. Tanner's new nickname is going to be Bobber. The Bobber is the one piece of equipment that always seems to be with you no matter where your fishing....lol

Yep that is key! That’s probably why people said they weren’t good because they wasn’t dispatched and prepared right

It is funny, when you tied on the top water I was thinking it would be neat if you caught a Spanish. I wish you would have done a side by side comparison between the Spanish and the Bluefish. The Spanish would have blown the bluefish out of the water. I really think bluefish need to sit in some type of marinade. There is a KZbin channel called Cooking with Clams. He did bluefish about a week or so ago and it looked pretty good.

Alright, let me try this again, maybe you can understand it this time. But I can't even understand it. I'm the one that spoke to text, okay, okay, after you clean your fish season 8 for a first backup, have you cleaned your face? You soaked the filet and buttermilk. That helps pull out the taste to bad tasten. You see you soon, and you normally do your fish. And it's best to do this on the grill. As really, the only way this recipe will work. You'll get you some Cedar planks. And you get ready to cook the fish you put. The fish flies on the Cedar pines. Cook it to it's flaky and completely done. And you get ready-to-eat scrape the fish into the trash and eat the Cedar Planks
@stevemerritt8747 Жыл бұрын
Brother, I have the absolute hands down. Best recipe in the world for them. Bitch the best on the grill. You take the hourly season to get it seasonville. Good, and this is that you've said it. And that it's soaked overno buttermilk, it does better. It pulls out the bad bad taste. Then you're making Cedar planks, you'ret your fish when you're really pretty hungry, you put it on the sugar planks, you put it on the gbill for about 5 minutes at the maroon 510 minutes, you're gonna have to bring it to us how big. The fish is, and when you're sure it's done. Take it out, walk over to the table. Push the fish down and hour and then when you're ready-to-eat. Pick up the fish, graped the fish in the trash and eat the Cedar planks.
