I'm digging the new photo setup. I've got the same LED lights. They are workhorses, I've had mine forever!
@Josh-Kim2 жыл бұрын
Hahah I feel like I've had them forever! I got them originally from Lonnie over at Shed Flips links 😄 I haven't been able to find them anywhere for an affordable price, so I'm glad they're still working lol. There's a small circle of resellers that still have these LED lights!
@sporton19772 жыл бұрын
Hey Josh! Great video! That light setup is totally you man! For myself, I have a large 8 drawer dresser that has some of my shipping supplies and other things I use for my business; on top of that I have my light cube that is permanently set up for my “hard goods”. I used to take pictures of clothing on the floor but now in my mid 40’s, I’m finding that it gets harder and harder to get on and off the floor everyday. So, I bought a 36” x36” square plastic folding table that I just set up and take down. I find it’s easier on my back not having to bend over constantly. So far, so good! Great video man! Keep on keepin’ on!
@Josh-Kim2 жыл бұрын
Taking photos on the floor is definitely takes a lot of energy! Love the big folding table. It really makes such a big difference for our backs. Sounds like you have a nice set up going too. Thanks for watching!

I agree I think having a set up that you can just lay out the item and get it photographed is much more efficient then having to set up light etc every time you need to take a photo that is my set up now which is really not productive and I hate doing it . Hoping to sell my house a buy a larger house . same with shipping if everything was in one place instead of me going up and down flights of stairs to find the right box

It definitely helps to have everything already set up and all in one place. It was a struggle before I had the basement space I have now 😅

I need to try and get a photo station set up. Right now I am all over with my photos. I just don't have the space to set one up so it's all over the place. I just sold that pair of Hokas not that long ago for 59.99. Can you do a new video sometime on your storage and tagging system. If not that's cool too. thanks

Nice sale on your Hokas! I can definitely go more in-depth on my inventory/storage system 😄 Appreciate you watching this one!

Hey Josh 🙂. I reallllly like the set up in the shelving unit. Great way to keep your space multi functional! I currently have a wall for hanging clothes to photograph. When i photograph shoes, hats, and belts i have a light box i set up. i really like my photo box but it can be a pain in the butt to set up and take down. I wish i had the space to leave it up all the time. My shelving set up in my work room is a bit smaller, but i love the idea of using one of the shelves as a "photo box", i think i might need to mess around with one of my shelves and see if i can replicate what you did here. Great video, thank you for the idea! Hope you have a great week! -Val 😀

I made a photography stand out of pvc pipe and put my softboxes on the top pole to get the stand lights out of the way. It shines down on my leaning flat lay setup.. makes it alot easier getting the lights out of the way so you can have room to work.
@Josh-Kim2 жыл бұрын
Ohhh nice. That sounds like a really good solution. I'll definitely need to figure something out and adjust my setup for clothing in the future to try to get the lights out of the way.

I do clothes on a 1/2 mannequin against a painted white wall, shoes on a white/silver stand and everything else, depending on size, either on the wooden dining table or the polished wood floor. I don't have much space and this works for me. Four seperate places around the house :) I have a standing light but find that my camera flash combined with natural sunlight works OK. Still looking for the elusive Hokas....

I love that setup. My non clothing setup is also my shipping station and right now it is storage for my clothes I’m listing this week. I already been thinking of how I can rework my shelves so I can copy this idea. I need a better station because I end up shipping from my desk chair.

Hey Josh 😀can we swap work stations ? 🤣. On a serious note i understand when you mentioned about adjusting your set up to do other items , I find that i cant get motivated changing the lighting around moving things in place after a long time listing. clothing . Its a work in progress though with me ! I've stopped using mannequins that's speeded things up a lot . The slanted base you do your clothing on i like that saves the back bending down . Thanks for sharing Josh .

I love the setup. And thanks for mentioning that photographing clothing is a grind. I was wondering if maybe clothing wasn’t for me because I find it is much more draining on me to list. Helps to know it’s not just me.
@Josh-Kim2 жыл бұрын
Photographing clothing is definitely much more labor intensive! I think it balances out though. It's much easier to ship clothing in a poly mailer compared to shipping bulkier miscellaneous items (especially when you need to frankenbox or hunt for the right sized box).

Hi Josh. I have also set up two work areas for photographing. Still always constant struggling with lighting. Do you leave your ceiling overhead lights on when photographing and if so are they daylight leds also? Some sellers say cut lights off in room except photography lights.
@Josh-Kim2 жыл бұрын
Hey Cynthia 😊 My ceiling lights are daylight bulbs (the same ones as the bulbs I put in the clamps), so I just keep everything on. If your ceiling lights are anything other than LED or daylight, then I would keep them off if possible since it will mess with the way the items' colors come out in the photos. Hopefully that helps!
