Everyone is justifiably impressed by Rick's ability to come back like he did. And so am I. But you gotta respect the other band members for stopping work and waiting for him to recover and learn to play again. I'm not sure many bands would have done that.
@moehio3 жыл бұрын
That's mainly because the band DIDN'T stop working. They continued working on their studio album right after the accident as they figured that's what Rick would have wanted them to do. To Rick's amazing credit, he was hitting the drums again 8 weeks after they removed his arm. Amazing.

This song is from the album "Pyromania" (1983)... The whole album is Great! Not a bad song on it... They had 5 radio hits off this album... "Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)", "Photograph", "Too Late for Love", Foolin'", and "Rock of Ages". The album after this was "Hysteria" (1987) Rick had his accident in 1984... the long pause was due to him recovering and learning to play again. Hysteria is another album that is great front to back. They had SEVEN radio hits off this album... "Women", "Rocket", "Animal", "Love Bites", "Pour Some Sugar on Me", "Armageddon It", and "Hysteria".

What I enjoyed almost as much as the show was - how annoyed, irritated and shocked the non rock fans were about how loudly the band played . They played like they were at the Forum East in 1970! They were all a little heavier and some sightings of gray hair were rumored to have been seen. But they played and sang the same as if it were still the 80’s. It was a fun night that was had by all rock fans that night.😎💋

Hopefully they will tour soon in your city or close by and you can go see them...even though they're in their 60s, except for Rick, he's 59, their shows are phenomenal. I decided several years ago to pick band and thoroughly study, read watch interviews, and study each member also individually.. Def Leppard was first on the list.. I went all the way back to the very beginning when Joe had brown curly hair LOL... You probably already have but if you go back and read and study every single thing about every single one of them each one individually has an amazing story in our phenomenal.. the one guitarist in the older videos that I don't mention is Steve Clark he died in January of 1991 and they replaced him with a guy named Vivian Campbell.. so he's in the newer stuff well from 91 on....they have been friends and bandmates for so many decades, that says a lot about a group of people, even married people most time don't stay together as long as they have.. I'm so glad that I found your videos I don't even care to watch anybody else's reviews anymore, I've become a huge fan of you 2

I still have a hard time watching any music video where the Def Leppard drummer still has both arms. It must have been amazing to not only continue being a drummer, but also inventing a drum kit specifically made for only one arm, the rest of the drums were done with foot pedals. Remember going to Walmart back in the late 90’s to pick something up for my wife. It was crowded as hell. Got out and worked my way forward thinking it was a giveaway or promotion thing only to see it was a band getting ready to perform. . Just then, Def Leppard started to sing Photograph. I stayed for the whole show and got scolded for getting home late. I watched the whole dang show. Totally awesome and free!!! Great band!!!

One of my top 5 bands. Love me some Def Lep. Pyromania is a killer album. High and Dry is a killer album and Hysteria after Rick Allen lost his arm and learned to drum without it!, killer album.

Hey guys, thank you for the videos! I grew up in the 80s and I think it's great you are showing the newer generation the awesome music from back then.

They had been played on album oriented rock stations before this, but this was their first real top 40 hit. The only thing that keep them at number 2 across the board for the whole year of 83, was Michael Jackson's Thriller at number 1

I've seen them in concert many, many times. 1st time 1986... up until now.. They put on a great show..

Def Leppard is my all time favorite band. Anytime you react to a Def Leppard video i'll always drop what i'm doing and watch. Joe Elliot has gone on the record many times saying Photograph was written for Maryland Monroe.

This was my first hard rock album, and I never tire of listening to it, even today. I loved this reaction.

When someone asks me who was my #1 favorite band in the 80's ... I say Def Leppard. And that says A LOT, considering I could identify about 2,000 bands from that decade (my teenage years). All of Def Leppard's hits were jams, and they had the most hits on any one album, and several hit albums (or tapes, that you would play in your car, driving around jamming to tunes). They're not my "all time" favorite band these days, in fact I've come to not have an all-out favorite, but for that time, absolutely they were. I've seen them twice on tour in the early 2000's. and they still put on a great show.

For me it was Van Halen.....but Def Leppard was in the top 5. Pyromania and Hysteria were epitomes of 80's hard rock. IMHO hey started to peter out after that though (along with changing of musical tastes occurring at that time).

I can’t express enough how much this song EVERYWHERE in 1983! Must have been on MTV every other hour for a year and a half.

They are sooo good live! I remember, as a teenager, coming down the steps at this concert to the edge of the rail, and he sang up at me. Omg, it was awesome, lol. ❤

Seen them 3 times - 1 outdoor rockfest , 1 arena and 1 arena where stage is in middle and fans all around stage

@@ursanator Hey, do you remember a concert where the drum stage rose up and turned over while he was playing? It just went upright so you could see him play, right? (Trying to remember how far they tilted him....)

Oh my Gosh!! Hahaha!! "THE COW BELL"... My twin sister made me go with her to see them in concert and it was absolutely amazing... watching the drummer was just as fascinating as their music... 🎶💞🙏🏻🔥

I discovered Def Leppard when I was 12 and sneaked into my uncle's room and started going thru his album collection. He came home and caught me but instead of getting mad he sat down on the floor w/ me and introduced me to more of his collection and that was when I also discovered Styx, ACDC and so much more. But Def Leppard was and always has been my favorite band.

As fans of Rick Allen and of the bands vocals I think you'd really enjoy the studio album version of "Rocket.' Its 6 minutes long but so much better (imo) than the shorter single version.

Oh man, I've seen Def Leppard live twice as a teenager when Rick had both his arms and Steve was alive, then at least half a dozen times as an adult when Rick lost his arm and when Vivian was part of the group. They are AMAZING live. Joe's vocal's are always on point, as are the group's guitar, bass, and drums. I admit I prefer Steve Clark's guitar playing, but who doesn't? He was a legend!

I've seen this band in concert 4 times, they are amazing showmen and Joe Elliot is one of the best front men out there. As a drummer myself, Rick Allen is in my Top 5. Another you'd like is the late Jeff Porcaro from Toto. Check out the song Rosanna

GREAT EFFIN SONG!!! My favorite Def Lep song ever. That melody is sweet, and you can sing to it, which is something I think is a qualifying factor for a great song. Joe Elliot knows he's not the most technically proficient singer there is, but it never stopped him. Nah, Photograph wasn't specifically about Marilyn Monroe, but it definitely could fit the song.
